Teen Mom‘s Tyler Baltierra has responded to the leaked photos of his daughter Carly that surfaced online. Tyler and Catelynn Baltierra placed Carly for adoption when she was born, and since then, her adoptive parents, Brandon and Teresa Davis, have made every effort to keep Carly off social media. So when photos and even a video of Carly was posted online and made the rounds on social media, Tyler shared his thoughts in his Instagram Stories.
Up until this point, photos of Carly have been a point of contention between Tyler and Catelynn and Brandon and Teresa. Carly’s adoptive parents didn’t want the Teen Mom stars to share photos of Carly online, and they said as much on the show one of the handful of times they appeared on it. Despite that, other photos of Carly from the family’s church were posted online, including one of Carly and Teresa together.
Tyler says he is ‘disappointed’ in Brandon and Teresa.
On April 5, 2025, Tyler shared in his Instagram Stories that he was “disappointed” in Brandon and Teresa and “heartbroken” by the leaked photos and video of Carly. He also pointed out what he sees as hypocrisy from the internet and message boards where, according to him, people “brutalized” him and Catelynn for years because of their desire to share photos of Carly.
“To say I’m disappointed is an understatement. It’s literally heartbreaking & sad that people are still continuing to share pictures & now videos of Carly,” Tyler wrote in his post. “The same people & pages who brutalize me & Cate with daily cruelty/hate for just speaking about our adoption story publicly are now participating in sharing her actual picture & video publicly. We haven’t shown her face in over 11 years because that’s what her parents wanted & now all of you are just doing it without a care in the world & it’s truly devastating.”
Tyler also shared that the same footage posted online by someone else, in which Carly sang in her church’s Sunday service, is footage he watches weekly. But according to Tyler on Instagram, he made sure not to share that publicly out of respect for Brandon and Teresa’s wishes to keep Carly off social media.
For fans, though, Tyler’s comments about Carly’s leaked photos are only making things worse for him, after he wrote that he watches the church service online.
“And why would he share that??? That’s downright creepy,” someone shared on Reddit. “Like she is not your child. She is not even a distant relative – she’s a stranger at this point, and he’s probably a stranger to her. How does he not realize this sounds like straight up stalking??”
Another wrote, “Openly admitting to stalking a minor is a choice, Tyler.”
Tyler and Catelynn have been vocal about not seeing Carly.
In the same post to his Instagram Stories, Tyler wrote that he is now worried that, because of the leaked footage and a leaked photo of Carly with Teresa, his opportunity to see the Sunday service online could be gone. And it’s no secret among fans that Tyler and Catelynn have been vocal about their desire to see Carly more.
On Teen Mom and on the couple’s podcast Cate & Ty: Break It Down, Tyler and Catelynn have both shared their frustration with Brandon and Teresa’s boundaries for the pair as Carly’s birth parents. In January 2025, Catelynn confirmed to Us Weekly that Brandon and Teresa effectively closed the adoption, which was once considered to be an open arrangement.
Before, Tyler and Catelynn were under the assumption that they would receive photos and updates, as well as being able to have yearly visits, for the foreseeable future. Over time that changed, as viewers have seen on Teen Mom. Now, with the leak of photos and video footage of Carly that had nothing to do with the Teen Mom couple, Tyler has new concerns about the already shaky relationship.
