Tyler defended his wife with an Instagram message the next day.

Tyler took to his Instagram Stories on May 10 to defend his wife. He explained that parents choosing adoption "does not come without a natural human cost."

He added, per E! Online, "Most will never know the pain of what it takes to fight against the most powerful, biological & instinctual nature that's required to make that choice. Most will never know what it's like to grow, nurture, love & carry such a beautiful perfect innocence like your own baby… only to painfully relinquish that natural bond to another to do what you know you can't for the sake of your baby."

In his message, Tyler also asked for kindness.

Tyler pointed out that Catelynn "fights this pain everyday," referencing their choice to give up Carly for adoption.

"Her expressing that pain on those particular days when she is vulnerable, sad & at a loss, should not be used as an attack against her character," he explained. "All I ask of you is to just PLEASE be kind."

Teresa and Brandon reportedly denied them the opportunity to see Carly 'MULTIPLE times.'

Tyler explained that Carly's adoptive parents reportedly agreed to allowing a yearly visit, but they were denied "MULTIPLE times." The last time Tyler and Catelynn saw Carly was in June 2023. Following the visit, she took to Instagram with a black-and-white of herself, Tyler and their four daughters.

"Had an amazing visit with our girl ❤️ she’s funny, kind, SMART, goofy and STUNNING ," Catelynn captioned the snap. "Adoption is hard and saying goodbye time and time again is soooo hard!!!! But seeing all of our girls together, getting to know Carly deeper and deeper each time and being with all four of our daughters is truly such a blessing!!!! #adoption #loveyou #mygirls."
