As the dust settles following Brooklyn Beckham‘s bombshell Instagram Stories rant against parents Victoria and David, a source close to the family is speaking out. After Brooklyn accused his mom of stealing his dance with Nicola Peltz at his wedding, an insider has come forward to share what really happened — and how Victoria’s “inappropriate” dance moves with her son left him humiliated.
The family’s relationships took a turn after Brooklyn and Nicola’s 2022 wedding.
In Brooklyn’s scathing rant that he shared on social media on Monday, not only did he accuse his family of trying to sabotage his marriage to Nicola, but he took a particular aim at Victoria, claiming that she refused to design a wedding dress for her and that she stepped in for what was intended to be their first dance at their wedding reception.
“In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me instead,” Brooklyn wrote in his post. “She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone. I’ve never felt more uncomfortable and humiliated in my entire life.”
A wedding guest claimed that Victoria “nuzzled” Brooklyn’s neck during their dance.
On Tuesday, someone claiming to have been a guest at Brooklyn and Nicola’s wedding told Page Six that the dance in question wasn’t exactly their first dance as a married couple, but it was intended to be a moment shared by the newlyweds — one that Victoria (and Marc Anthony) reportedly surprised them by ruining.
“It was meant to be the big romantic first dance. It was pre-determined specifically for Nicola and Brooklyn,” one source said, while the wedding guest added that Victoria “got up on stage and wrapped her arms around Brooklyn” and then “nuzzled into his neck.” Yeah, that does sound a bit awkward.
The guest added, “She was dancing with him very inappropriately. She took that moment from Nicola, that is the God’s truth.”
Nicola was reportedly heartbroken by the moment.
After seeing what was happening with her brand new mother-in-law, Nicola reportedly broke down.
“Nicola ran out crying. The Beckhams’ side of the room was cheering and the Peltz side was quiet,” the wedding guest said. “Nicola’s friends were saying ‘You have to go back down.’ Her face was swollen. She finally came down and was sad the entire evening, it was so heartbreaking.”
Brooklyn is supposedly hoping the video footage of the dance with his mom is never made public.
Another insider spoke with TMZ about the dance, claiming that the experience was “deeply embarrassing and humiliating” for Brooklyn.
Fortunately, because security at the wedding was so tight between the NDAs that guests were required to sign and the fact that no one (besides the mother of the groom, of course) was allowed to have their phone with them during the event, Brooklyn and Nicola seem to be in full control of the footage of the dance, and if it’s up to them, it will never see the light of day.
