It goes without saying that the World Cup is a big deal in David Beckham‘s family… well, maybe to everybody except for his wife. Over the weekend, Victoria joined David at the match between England and Norway, and of course, the former footballer was celebrating big time when England pulled off the win. But as for Victoria? She looked like she’d rather be anywhere else, and people really can’t blame her.
The contrast between Victoria and David’s faces at that moment is huge.

Victoria was at the match in Miami with David and three of their four children, Cruz, Romeo, and Harper, and while we obviously don’t have footage of her watching the entire match, in the moment that’s going viral, it looks like she couldn’t possibly have been more over it.
When the entire stadium erupted in cheers to celebrate England’s win — and David himself jumped to his feet, looking about as excited as you could ever expect a human being to look — Victoria stayed seated, looking off into the distance while wearing her sunglasses with a bored expression on her face.
She didn’t even bother to smile. And honestly, she deserves credit for this skill, because it can’t be easy to remain totally stone-faced while everyone around you is hooting and hollering like that.
People think Victoria has every right to be over the whole soccer thing by now.
Not only has she probably been to more football matches than anyone could ever count, but so much of her life has revolved around the sport because of her husband’s career. Maybe at this point, she’s seen enough?
That’s what a lot of people seem to think in one Reddit thread discussing the photo. While some may criticize her for not being more excited in that moment, a lot of people are defending her reaction.
“Can you imagine how many football games this woman has sat through? She’s seen it all before,” one person commented, while another wrote, “One of her $34 eyeliners sells every 30 seconds. If I were her, I wouldn’t care either.”
So many good points being made!
David says she wasn’t as miserable as her facial expression would lead one to believe.
In the comments of one Instagram post that shared photos of the couple at the World Cup, David joked, “She was celebrating inside I promise. Her reactions were slightly slower than mine.”
Maybe so, but Victoria herself has said in the past that she’s not really that into the sport, so really, it was sweet of her to be there with her family when the World Cup was so obviously so important to them. Has David ever looked that excited to be at a fashion show?
