What to Know
Long before singer Gwen Stefani was stealing hearts on The Voice (literally, because I don’t have to remind you about the Blake Shelton of it all), she was married to Bush lead singer Gavin Rossdale. Before they split up, though, there were rumors of infidelity on his part. Now, a user on TikTok, Maegan, says in a video that her husband was involved in the alleged cheating scandal when he was married to his previous wife.
Yes, it’s a bit of a tangled web, but if you can keep up with it, it’s well worth the tea. The woman claims in her TikTok that Gwen once called her husband, before they were married, and told him to keep his wife away from her then-husband, Gavin. I mean, Gwen and Gavin ended up splitting up anyway, but the TikTok user felt it pertinent to bring up this little bit of hot Hollywood goss, because of Gwen’s promotion of the prayer app called Hallow.
Gwen Stefani allegedly called out a woman after Gavin Rossdale cheated with her.
In her video, Maegan says that, before she met and married her husband, his wife slept with Gavin when he was still married to Gwen. According to Maegan, through her husband’s own story of course, after Gwen found out, she called Maegan’s now-husband and said, “Keep your whore wife away from my children.”
Maegan admits that Gwen was “valid” in her anger, but she also reprimands the singer for her choice of language. She says that Gwen’s comment to her husband was “not very Christ-like.” She says this because of Gwen’s open promotion of the prayer app Hallow. The app got flack because of its “pay to pray” setup, where users can utilize the app for prayer, but have to pay to get the most out of it.
In the comments under Maegan’s TikTok, some users commented to say that they didn’t realize Gwen is actually Christian. Others wrote that they actually expected this sort of behavior from her, even before she and country music star Blake got together.
One person wrote, “My mom went to HS with her…she’s a classic Orange County Christian.”
Another added, “That was before she was born again. Lol.”
“Haha not very Christ-like but does sound an awful lot like a good old American Christian,” someone else wrote.
When others commented to say that Gwen shouldn’t be considered in the wrong here because of her religion (which, let’s face it, no one is really saying), others commented to point out what beliefs Gwen is allegedly aligning herself with these days.
“She’s aligned herself with an institution that’s caused grievous hurt to millions and millions of us, one used to actively dehumanize entire groups of humans, and [is] making a buck off it to boot,” someone wrote. “We feel a little betrayed, you see.”
Gwen Stefani has never shied away from religion, though.
Just in case you need some confirmation that Gwen strives to be more Christ-like than Maegan says she is in the video from the story from way back when, Gwen has spoken about her religion before. When the Hallow app posted an Instagram video promoting the brand, Gwen appeared in the clip to say that her Catholic faith has remained close to her throughout the years.
She admits in the video that, for a little while, she lost her way from her faith, and it sounds like that might have happened when she discovered that Gavin was cheating on her. Whether you hold her in a higher regard because of her A-lister status, or you just want to see celebrities of her caliber get called out, we can all agree that Maegan’s story spilled some serious tea.
