What to Know
Taylor Swift‘s star-studded wedding guest list has created a lot of buzz over the past week, but people are almost more focused on who wasn’t invited. After months of speculation that former BFFs Taylor Swift and Blake Lively were feuding, Blake and husband Ryan Reynolds appeared to be missing from the festivities, and people are dying to know what happened between them.
But now that one actress has shared her theory about what went down behind the scenes, Swifties are coming for blood.
Zoe Kazan shared her thoughts on the situation on X.

The backlash was so bad that the Revolutionary Road actress has since deleted her post, but the internet is, of course, forever. And even though she didn’t name names in her post, people had no trouble figuring out exactly who she was talking about.
“I think she [Swift] didn’t invite her [Lively] because she has come to the end of her marriage plot, thus cutting off access to her first great subject,” she wrote, according to Us Weekly. “Rather than root for her own divorce, she is generating the next chapter of interpersonal drama for herself via female friendship.”
Swifties are unimpressed that Zoe believes Taylor would manufacture drama like that.
I just asked if you were unemployed because who sits and writes a whole fan fiction about a stranger. Your tweets were weird.

It’s a pretty bold claim to say that Taylor would create drama in one of her closest relationships just to have new material for her next album, and Swifties were loud about their disagreement with Zoe’s theory.
“Zoe I’ve always liked you as an actress/creative but this is such an odd take because you’re essentially trivializing a woman to a character and not a person. just strange,” one fan replied.
Another wrote, “This is really weird. Saying she’s ‘generating the next chapter of interpersonal drama for herself via female friendship’ is delusional at best + misogynistic/dehumanizing at worst. Ur deflecting by calling ppl ‘touchy’. Go analyze fictional characters instead of whatever this is.”
In an effort to do damage control, Zoe later added, “Hilarious to me that this is being read as critical! She’s explicitly made her love life the subject of her work, yielding many good songs. Now, as a storyteller, she needs a new subject.”
At that point, it was too late to take what she said back, and all posts related to the subject have disappeared from Zoe’s feed.
Sources claim that Blake missing out on the wedding was more strategic than anything else.

According to what an insider told Us Weekly last month, Blake was fine skipping out on the wedding since she knew it would be a big story if she went, given all the speculation about where she and Taylor stand these days.
“It would be a media frenzy,” the insider said. “She also understands that she and Taylor don’t have the same level of friendship they once had. She isn’t upset about not being invited, but of course, she would love to be there to support her and Travis.”
