Soccer Mom Madam
Anna Gristina was dubbed the “Soccer Mom Madam” for reportedly running a prostitution ring that banked millions of dollars on New York's Upper East Side. The mother-of-four’s day job? Running “a rescue farm for potbellied pigs in upstate Monroe,” according to the New York Daily News. In the end, Gristina pleaded guilty to promoting prostitution—she set up a rendezvous between a law-enforcement official and two hookers—and served four months of her six-month sentence. Upon release, the Scotland native faced possible deportation for the felony.
Brawling Boys' Moms Fight
An Orlando middle school soccer match turned ugly when two moms rushed the field to break up a scuffle between their sons in October. Although the mothers claimed they were only attempting to stop the fight, Renee Hidalgo told WFTV that the other mother turned on her son, which is when she started hitting the woman. Hidalgo was bleeding from the head and lost a tooth after it was over. "I couldn't believe in my years of playing sports and seeing kids play sports, I've never seen anything like it," she said. Both women were looking at possible assault charges.

A 'Bonnie Parker Soccer Mom'
A woman driving a “soccer-mom SUV” was responsible for a series of bank robberies in the New York and Connecticut areas earlier this year, according to ABC News. Dressed in a raincoat, black hat, long blonde hair and wire glasses, the woman would walk up to a teller and threaten violence, insisting the bank employee hand over cash. Then, she’d hop into her van and drive off. Cops connected her to six different robberies, all banks in affluent areas. The woman insisted authorities would never take her into custody alive. “It's almost like a Bonnie Parker situation," Danbury, Conn., police Capt. Arthur Sullo said.
Grand Theft
A 36-year-old Nebraska mother of five was charged in April with stealing up to $150,000 from her kid’s soccer team, according to Omaha.com. While acting as a registrar and board member, Michelle Williamson was paid to deal with the program’s money The felony was discovered when a new treasurer was hired and carried out an audit. Williamson could face 20 years behind bars for the felony.

Embezzling Soccer Mom
Soccer mom Karen Edenfield stood up in court to apologize to everyone she stole money from as she embezzled at least $82,000 from the First Coast Soccer Association in Jacksonville, Fla. Although $120,000 was reportedly missing from the team’s funds, police were only able to connect about two-thirds of it to Edenfield, who managed the money for the association that runs youth soccer programs around Jacksonville. "I'm sorry for the friends I have lost for my actions," she said, according to the Florida Times-Union. "I do plan to do the right thing and pay them back as soon as possible."

Soccer Mom Accused of Fraud
Police discovered that a 36-year-old South Carolina woman wasn’t just the quintessential “soccer mom”—a “petite suburban mother and wife"—after she was accused of defrauding jewelry stores with bad checks to purchase gold and turn it at a profit. Tina Brannan allegedly robbed stores of more than $10,000 with checks from a closed account in 2008. She was charged with 14 counts of obtaining goods under false pretenses, and an additional charge of defrauding a federal institution, according to WSPA.
