I like to think that my baking skills were fine-tuned during my childhood bake-offs using my Easy-Bake Oven. While Mom was baking her "crispy" chocolate chip cookies, I was making little chocolate cakes with a light bulb. Oh, the high technology.
Kids today have even more cooking toys than we did. In fact, I'm kinda jealous. Would it be terribly weird if I had these 7 toys in my kitchen?
Sno-Cone Maker: I vividly remember mine was a Charlie Brown Sno-Cone Maker, with Snoopy loyally sitting on the top, but I believe the version for today's kids is led by SpongeBob SquarePants. Gotta get what the cool kids are buying.
Dairy Queen Blizzard Maker: Kids can re-create their favorite frozen DQ treats with their very own Blizzard Maker. Blizzards anytime I wanted? Yes, please!
Gourmet Girl Cupcake Maker: With all of my favorite flavors to choose from (chocolate, vanilla, red velvet … ), it's hard to not want this. And hey, you can always have your kid help bake those 30 cupcakes for the class party.
Cra-Z-Art Marshmallow Maker: You Your kids can create marshmallow pops with candy decorations. Dear god, just imagine the sugar high after that.
ICEE Maker: Unfortunately, they don't have my favorite flavor (cola), but you can make watermelon, cherry, and orange ICEEs to enjoy on a hot summer day.
Donut Maker: Apparently, this toy is a pain in the ass to clean, so you'll probably only use it once for a nice supply of donut holes before you try to hide it away forevermore.
Candy Jewelry Factory Oven: Remember the candy jewelry that would make your wrists and fingers all sticky after you continually slurped on it throughout the day? Now we can make our own!
Did you have any food-making toys as a kid? Which was your favorite? Does your child own any of these?
