When are all the celebrity husbands going to realize that hiring a hooker is a very bad idea? These women always end up talking to a reporter. I don't know who finds who first: the tabloid finds the prostitute, the prostitute finds the tabloid — but in the end they find each other and the rest is history. Yes, George Lopez, you and your reputation are history. Because if we can ever bear to watch your talk show again, all we will think when we look at you is EWWW.
I mean, if you're going to cheat, take a cue from Ashton and at least do it with a regular person. Maybe that's not the best example. But when you do that, at least you can use the excuse that you didn't plan it to happen. Or you were drunk. Some wives may actually buy those.
But a prostitute? That takes motive, secrecy, intention, money, and yuckiness. And in most places it's illegal, not to mention dangerous to your and your spouse's health (STDs). Yup, very hard to forgive the hooker thing.
But I don't need to convince anyone of this. What I don't get is what would possess the 59-year-old Lopez Tonight host, who is separating from his wife of 17 years Ann Serrano, the woman who bore his only child, the woman who gave him a kidney to save his life, to go that route.
With not one … but TWO ladies of the night.
He seems like such a straight-up guy for a funny man. He's had some pretty crappy health problems to deal with that you'd think would make him appreciate his life and all that he had. That's when his wife Ann gave him one of her kidneys, to save her beloved's life. Lopez even postponed the surgery in 2005 to finish out a season of his sit-com George Lopez, so that the timing wouldn't affect his staff.
So here's a man who doesn't like any disturbances in his routine, who wants to keep everything in tact and nicey-nice, which may be why he tried to get away with a hooker. Today, George and Ann Lopez released this statement:
George and Ann Lopez have made the decision to end their 17-year marriage. The decision is amicable and by mutual agreement. They remain dedicated parents, and committed partners in business and their philanthropic organization, The Lopez Foundation.
On top of this, I finally learned the likely reason behind Cameron Crowe and Nancy Wilson's separation is a romance with a young staffer on the set of Crowe's latest production — and not on the part of Nancy. We're still monitoring the Ashton debacle. The year 2010 is turning out to be the year of the split.
