Did anyone know that NeNe Leakes and Kim Kardashian are besties? I somehow missed that memo. NeNe attended Kim's baby shower over the weekend (yeah! that's how close they are! I'm shocked, too!) and wore a very, um, interesting piece of clothing. The Real Housewives of Atlanta star donned a brown and green mullet dress and wore a crown of flowers.
The crown was Kim's idea, natch.
NeNe's style has always been on-point, which is why this bizarre dress seems so unlike her. What was she thinking? It seems like something Kenya "Gone With the Wind Fabulous" Moore might wear, not our Neens.
We're used to seeing Mrs. Leakes take fashion risks, though, so it's not like we don't appreciate the effort. Her sheer black blouse looked slammin' (maybe she borrowed it from new best friend Kim?), her color-blocking mini-dress was a hit at the Bravo Upfronts, and the gorgeous print gown she wore with pink heels for a New Normal event was equally chic.
Maybe NeNe was worried about upstaging Kim at her own baby shower? Who knows what's to blame for her momentary lapse in sartorial judgment, but I hope she gets her groove back before her re-wedding.
If she wears a mullet dress down the aisle, I'm blaming Kim.
