It happens to the best of women. Something happens, they forget something epic like to put cream in their husband's to-go coffee cup in the morning (sense my sarcasm?), and then they feel like the worst wife ever. But let's be honest — something silly like forgetting creamer does NOT make you a bad wife. You know what does, though? Your name.
Okay, semi-kidding. A new survey from siteopia.com recently revealed the best names for husbands and wives if you want a lasting marriage. Ha! And to think, all that bickering in the home about whose responsibility it should be to empty the dishwasher could have been avoided if you just thought more carefully about their name before saying "I do."
Again, with the sarcasm.
Check out the list of 10 best husband and wife names, here:
First things first, the 10 best wife names:
1. Katie
2. Sophie
3. Louise
4. Sarah
5. Emily
6. Charlotte
7. Elizabeth
8. Amy
9. Jessica
10. Lucy
I would like to note that #1 on the list, Katie, makes me immediately think of Katie Holmes, who was I believe to be an awesome wife despite her totally fake nuptials. (Okay, so there's no proof of that, technically.) And #10 on the list: Lucy — helllooooo Lucille Ball. Best. Wife. EVAH!
And now for the 10 best husband names:
1. David
2. Andrew
3. Daniel
4. Paul
5. John
6. William
7. Simon
8. James
9. Chris
10. Stephen
David … David Beckham — YES. And I can think of a whole slew of excellent Williams (Prince William, ahem) but, erm, not so much Bill Clinton.
Okay so let's be honest: this little list most certainly isn't the end-all be-all to finding a mate. Can you imagine if someone's name was the only thing that made them the ideal partner?! Finding a husband would be so … easy. Dating websites wouldn't need to be so creepy.
But still, even if you find a dreamboat (or you've already found one) and his name just happens to be David, beware.
"Of course, people shouldn't be judged on a name alone," said a rep from siteopia.com. "So while men like David and Andrew seem to be top of the pile, they've still got to uphold that reputation day to day."
Touché, Siteopia. Touché.
Is your name on the list? Have you found a trend in men or women with certain names that happen to be nicer?
