Just about every wedding cake is going to be gorgeous. But there are some cakes that go over the top — in terms of ambition, creativity, beauty, or artistry. Here's a few of our favorite wedding confections.

Windswept Flowers
The cakes created by Sugar Realm in Cincinnati are nothing short of works of art. This white and coral fantasy looks like it could flutter away in a breeze.
Stained Glass
Here's another cake by Sugar Realm, this one featuring Tiffany-style "stained glass."
Gold & Roses
Nadia Colello of Nadia & Co in Toronto, Ontario painted cabbage roses on the fondant and then gilded the cake with golden wreaths and ribbons.

Unicorn Cake
Granted it's not for everyone, but this unicorn cake by Richard Amon and Eddie Lebeau of London's Tattooed Bakers is extraordinary. On the inside? Rainbow sponge cake, of course.
As Pretty As Goth Can Get
Here's another deeply cool wedding cake cake by Tattooed Bakers — the skull is a piñata!
A Door to Wonderland
The theme for this cake is "A Door to Wonderland" — a fitting metaphor for a wedding, no? It's the creation of Alisha Henderson of Sweet Bakes in Melbourne, Australia.
Dancing Fox & Owl
This hand-painted wedding cake, also by Sweet Bakes, is a unique woodland fantasy with dancing fox and owl. Look closely and you'll see the word "one." So adorable!
Half-Batman, Half-Traditional
Something tells me the bride and groom who got this amazing half-Batman, half-traditional wedding cake by Becs Peel of Stiletto Studio were equally happy with the result.
Chalkboard-Inspired Cake
Who says a wedding cake has to be white? Pastry chef Elizabeth Marek of Artisan Cake Company in Portland, Oregon was so inspired by the chalkboard trend that she created this chalkboard-look wedding cake. It looks so sweet and old-fashioned. She's hoping to create more, if you happen to be in the area.
Floral Fantasy
Do you just hear angels singing when you look at this exquisite creation by Laurie Cinelli of A Piece of Cake & Desserts in Tampa, Florida? Sigh …
