This Bride Walked Down the Aisle With an Actual Bouquet of Doughnuts

Every bride wants her big day to be memorable, and sometimes that means putting her own spin on the traditional things. For 23-year-old bride Paige Kirk, instead of choosing not roses or lilies for her bouquet, she picked delectable doughnuts

On her wedding day this past week, the Australia-based bride surprised her bridesmaids with bouquets of doughnuts — both regular-sized ones and doughnut holes — that were adorned with an ivory icing that matched her dress.

"Me and my husband, Steven, thought it would be different, fun, and lighthearted," Kirk told the BBC.

The bouquets were provided by Dessert Boxes, which is a new Aussie company that wants to give bridal parties unique and edible bouquets. Kirk is the first bride to walk down the aisle with its products.

"Everyone thought it was hilarious, and the venue couldn't believe it," she said.

If you're wondering, no, they did not eat the bouquets afterward. There were many other treats at the wedding, Kirk said.

"We wanted the wedding to be a bit different and really reflect who we are as a couple," she continued. She and her now-husband have been together three years, although they've known each other for five.

We wish them many more years to come — and many doughnuts as well.
