A wedding is arguably one of the biggest days in a woman's life, so it is not uncommon for brides to think of it as their "moment to shine." However, when do you cross the line from being an excited bride to becoming a selfish bridezilla? Well, one British woman is catching heat for revealing that her best friend is "stealing her thunder" by getting engaged a few months before her wedding.
The woman took to Mumsnet to share her frustrations about her maid of honor being newly engaged.
In the post, the bride shares that because they are "in the middle of all her planning," she fears that her friend won't be able to help her get things done because she will be too focused on her own wedding and engagement.
The bride then explains that she has waited 10 years for her wedding and she feels that her best friend is always "swooping in" on her.
"It just feels like I'm not allowed do anything without her swooping in sometimes," she wrote.
She then accuses her friend of "instigating" the engagement because there was no formal proposal.
She concludes her post by insisting that she is happy for her friend, just annoyed. Then, she asked other people on Mumsnet if she is being a "horrible bridezilla type." And the responses she got were VERY clear.
The comments sounded off ... very much in defense of the bride's friend.
The commenters felt that there is no reason for her to feel like her wedding is any more important than her friend's engagement.
Someone suggested that her fiancé help her with the wedding stuff if her maid of honor is unable to.
Someone else thought she was being so ridiculous that it "has to be a joke."
And another told her, "Get over yourself" because she is being "unreasonable."
So, the overall consensus is that this bride needs to chill out!
Hopefully she can find a way to be happy and excited that both she and her best friend are getting married!
