Bride Catches Mother-in-Law Secretly Trying on Her Wedding Dresses & Ripping It

Although marrying the one you love is a very exciting time, it can also be extremely stressful to plan a wedding. And on top of figuring out all of the details for the big day, some women have an overbearing mother-in-law to deal with as well. One [bride], who has remained unnamed, took to Reddit to share her pre-wedding horror story of walking in on her MIL trying on her wedding dress — and then ruining it!

The bride shared on Reddit that she and her fiancé are planning a December wedding in Columbia after a year of being engaged, and his mom isn't pleased.

She says that her MIL is "extremely upset about this." Although she keeps things polite and cordial, she'll do strange things like sit on her son's lap, tuck his hair behind his ear, and cut his food for him.

The bride's MIL doesn't like the idea of a destination wedding and has complained about airfare, the size of the wedding, and more.

In addition to complaining about the wedding itself, the MIL also hates the bride's engagement ring, says their townhouse is too extravagant, and even called the bride fat and told her to "watch her calories" so she can fit into her dress.

Is that all?!

But things got worse. One day while the MIL was visiting, the bride walked in on her struggling to put on her wedding dress.

"I went to go take a bathroom break and headed into the master bedroom … and what do I find but Future MIL struggling to yank my dress over her head BUT WAS FREAKING STUCK," the bride wrote. "I blurted out 'what the hell?!' and she immediately started stammering 'Oh my God! OH MY GOD! OH GOD!'"

The MIL had managed to 'scratch her way through the back of the dress and completely destroy the sheer material.'

The bride described how the dress was damaged, writing, "She burst the side zipper of the dress and got a dirty foot print on the train. I asked her, as soon as I got her out of the dress (and I want to note, with HUGE amounts of disgust, that she was wearing no underwear), what the HELL she was thinking."

The MIL said that she was just trying to make sure the dress would fit her (despite the fact that the bride had already been professionally fit in the dress).

Umm, wow.

'I think the b---h was actually trying to pretend she was the bride ... which for so many reasons, is so wrong,' the disturbed bride wrote.

And, to top it all off, the MIL has not offered to pay for any of the repairs!

The bride concluded: "It's taking everything in me to tell her to not pound sand. I'll wear my f—ing Galia Lahav dress to my godd— grave and she'd better not say anything about it."

Honestly, we are speechless. Sending good vibes to the bride. She needs all of the emotional support she can get!
