Amazon's Prime Day, which will be July 15 and July 16, is a Big Freaking Deal. The company basically slashes its item prices by insanely large margins and people take advantage. For example, their KitchenAid mixers are almost all marked down. On this day, it's also completely feasible to purchase something like a Rosetta Stone, for example, for like $5 when it can retail for hundreds. Or, it's a one-stop shop for things people are going to get anyway so why not get it for super cheap. Whatever the deal, the day has become so popular that the company extended it to two days. Given that last year the Amazon site went down, it makes sense. With that said, it's just upped the game for other retailers to compete.
According to a survey by RetailMeNot, 84% of retailers say Prime week is the most important time for driving online sales for back-to-school purchases. And more brands than last year are also jumping on the sale bandwagon. It makes sense: If everyone flocks to Amazon, their sales could potentially suffer. Yes it's sort of like an anti-Prime Prime Day for them, but eats dog-eat-dog or brand out there. Target, for example, announced its own "Summer Deal Day" and Walmart has severely cut prices already. Even though the games, er, Days don't begin technically until mid-month, Amazon has already marked down items. Not to be outdone, so has other retailers. Nordstrom, for example, has a preview page while eBay has just gone for it.

Leave no brand left behind — at least Walmart won't be. It already has lowered prices on products from vacuums to laptops. This one from HP retails for $599 but is on sale at $427. There may be more to come on the actual big day.

Target
Target doesn't want to miss out on the deal fun, either. Given its brick-and-mortar success, the company has decided to have a sale of its own in the form of "Summer Deal Days" on Monday July 15 and Tuesday July 16 — yes Prime Days. Day One (Monday, July 15) has 40% off select furniture and indoor rugs, deals on top kitchen brands, like Instant Pot, KitchenAid, and more. Plus save on top home items from Shark, Dyson, Hoover, and more. Day Two (Tuesday, July 16) features 30% off exclusive home brands, including indoor and outdoor furniture and rugs, bedding, and bath to 30% off select small appliances, cookware, and floor care.
Nordstrom
Nordstrom's "biggest sale of the year" — aka its Anniversary Sale — just-so-happens to fall at the end of July into August. It will begin on July 12 and open to everywhere on July 19. The luxury department store hasn't unveiled all sale items yet but gave a sneak peak. Expect to see shoes, jewelry, sweaters and more marked down. The boots above, for example, will cost just $125 from the original $190 price.
eBay
E-commerce site eBay plans to pick up where Amazon fails this year and then some. The site announced it would have a "Crash Sale" should Amazon crash on Prime Day as it did in 2018. But to cover its bases, there's lots of items already marked down, from electronics like these headphones to phones, cases, blenders, and more.

Google doesn't plan on missing out an any action with a pre-Prime day sale of its own lasting through July 17. The Verge reported that the Google Nest Hub is currently $79 instead of its usual $129 price. Google Chromecast, Google Home Max (above) Mini Homes, and Nest Cam cameras are marked down as well.

BuyBuyBaby is getting in on the sale action, at least for now. Products are already marked down, like this audio monitor which was originally $39.99. Breast pump kits and play mats are also among the items on sale.

Home Depot is also likely to throw its name in the deal ring this month as the site already features major markdowns on appliance and other items. This washer price was slashed by $200.

Kohl's may have struck a deal recently with Amazon to accept its returns, but that doesn't mean it's hopping off the sale wagon. Items from Nike are currently 40% off.

Old Navy is never shy for a deal, generally, but this time of year, it's full speed ahead. The main deals through Prime Day are buy one, get one for kids' school uniforms including polos and shorts and pants and a full 20% off orders.

Whole Foods
Save big on Whole Foods purchases during Prime Days. Now, unlike these other competitors, Whole Foods is under the same company as Amazon and is working in tandem on this deal. Tom's Guide reports that for a purchase of $10 or more at Whole Foods by Prime members, they will get $10 Amazon cash.
Macy's
Macy's has marked down items in accessories and clothing departments through July 14 and electronics through July 31. Sunglasses are a full 50% off and kids' clothes are also marked down.

JC Penney has sales of its own, but the brand also has taken the deal train up a notch with its matching promise. The "lowest price guarantee policy" ensures the company will beat the price by 5% — products straight from Amazon.com included. Current deals include women and men's shirts.

Best Buy is also part of the anti-Prime Day bandwagon. The retailer has already started marking down prices on everything from this Pack and Play (originally $109) to this Canon DLSR camera and lenses set (now at $499 from $649).

Bed, Bath & Beyond is less flashy with its current sale, but still broadcasting on its main site nonetheless. It's taken $100 off the price of its stand mixers and selling Instant Pots for $89.99.
