The holiday season is all about giving: giving gifts, giving love, and giving back. No matter what your life looks like, there is always a way to give back to your community. If you have kids, the holidays can be a great time to teach them about giving back! Here are some of our favorite ways for families to give back to their communities together:
1. Clean Up A Local Park
If the weather is warm enough in your area, head to a local park and clean up! Grab some gloves and garbage bags and pick up litter. Keeping the park clean doesn’t just make it look nicer, it also supports the animals that live there and helps the environment.
2. Make Holiday Cards For Senior Center Residents
While many people who live in senior centers or assisted living facilities have loving families who visit them during the holidays, many don’t! Making them a quick card can make them feel appreciated and loved during the holidays — plus it’s a fun craft for kids to do!
