5 Ways To Support Others This Holiday Season

The holiday season is all about giving: giving gifts, giving love, and giving back. No matter what your life looks like, there is always a way to give back to your community. The holidays should be the most wonderful time of the year for everyone, and whether you can support others with money, goods, or time, it’s always worth it to put a smile on someone else’s face during the holiday season.

If you have kids, the holidays can be a great time to teach them about giving back! One of the best ways to do this is to teach them about a variety of ways to support others and let them choose how they want to help out this year. Here are some of our favorite ways for families to give back to their communities together:

1. Clean Up A Local Park

If the weather is warm enough in your area, head to a local park and clean up! Grab some gloves and garbage bags and pick up litter. Keeping the park clean doesn’t just make it look nicer, it also supports the animals that live there and helps the environment.

2. Make Holiday Cards For Senior Center Residents

While many people who live in senior centers or assisted living facilities have loving families who visit them during the holidays, many don’t! Making them a quick card can make them feel appreciated and loved during the holidays — plus it’s a fun craft for kids to do!

3. Support Finding Forever Families for Children in Foster Care with a $2 Frosty Key Tag from Wendy’s

During the winter months, some people need a little help staying warm. Donating winter clothes to a clothing drive can be a great way to help others. Go through your closets and donate lightly used items, or head to the store and buy some new clothing.

5. Donate Toys To Kids In Need

Every parent knows that toys can get expensive, especially around the holidays. For many families, toys are just not in the budget. Bring a smile to a kid’s face this season by participating in a toy drive!
