Jordyn Woods and Jada Pinkett Smith shared a LOT of tea, tears, and hugs during the Red Table Talk episode that aired on Friday, March 1.
The point of the gathering was for Woods to regale her tale of the cheating saga concerning her allegedly creeping around with Tristan Thompson, and she did just that. The reason we all tuned in is that we wanted our tea served hot straight from the kettle, which we got with sugar.
The actual breakout star of the episode once it was all wrapped, though? Jordyn Woods' makeup!
Seriously, the woman looked flawless.
The baby hairs were swooped just so. The ponytail was perfect. The makeup was A1.
Was she wearing Kylie Cosmetics?! Or was that Fenty Beauty? The world may never know. If you're going to have a sticky conversation about your personal life in front of the world, then make sure you are BEAT to the GAWDS while you do it.
The internet could not stop talking about how flawless Woods looked as she held a very difficult conversation about her personal life.
"#RedTableTalk @jordynwoods is so beautiful like whatttt?!?" a Twitter user shared while watching the episode.
People couldn't help but want a step-by-step explanation for the beauty before them.
"Waiting for the 'Jordyn Woods Red Table Talk' makeup tutorial… Now that is a beautiful natural makeup look," another viewer wrote online.
The people wanted a tutorial from any influencer of color who could nail it, ASAP.
"Alright my beautiful melanated YouTube gurus (@alissa_ashleyy, @ItsMyRayeRaye, @AaliyahJay @jackieaina ) can y’all do this look on your channels…or at least give me an idea of how to look this flawless #RedTableTalk #JordynWoods," an eager fan requested on Twitter.
Beauty influencer and routine "no-makeup makeup" face slayer Alissa Ashley put herself to the task on her YouTube channel.
Ashley is already a goddess who regularly serves face. It makes total sense that she would give us the tutorial we all deserve. Who better?! The beauty expert created a step-by-step video that shows exactly what kinds of products to use and how to apply them to achieve that stunning Red Table Talk makeup.
Ashley moisturized her face first and then applied a mattifying primer to lay down a solid base for the look.
The first thing you'll notice about Woods' face is that it looks smooth, well-blended, and really, really matte. The key to copying it correctly is to use primarily matte and powder products.
Alissa Ashley used the NARS Pore & Shine Control Primer ($36, Ulta).
Next, she used the Cover FX Power Play Foundation ($44, Ulta).
"The reason I’m picking this is because it has a nice, full coverage, and I feel like her makeup look was so flawless that I want to make sure no flaws are in sight at all," Ashley shared.
This Cover FX foundation has a "modern-matte" finish. Alissa Ashley uses the shade N80.
She buffed the foundation into her skin with a brush.
She used the Y6 Pro Flat Buffer Brush ($10, Morphe).
Then, it was time to brighten and conceal!
“I feel like there was a really nice face highlight going on there, especially on the forehead," she said about Woods' look.
After applying the concealer underneath her eyes and on her forehead, she let it dry down just a little and then blended it with a wet JUNO & Co Microfiber Fusion Sponge ($6, Juno & Co).
To set the foundation and concealer, she used a translucent powder and a foundation face powder.
Then, it was on to brows!
For the eye shadow, Alissa Ashley turned to Natasha Denona for a super subtle look.
To warm up her face and add dimension, she decided to add a bronzer.
She used Glamabronze Face & Body Bronzer ($19, Morphe).
“I like it because it’s kind of lightweight and it’s not going to do too much. I can go lightly around my perimeter without it being muddy," she shared about her bronzer selection.
She then went super light with the blush and offered a tip for applying it ever so that it looks as natural as possible.
Alissa Ashley used the NARS Liquid Blush ($30, Sephora) in the shade Dolce Vita. She spread it over the back of her hand first to avoid dumping excess product onto her brush. Then, she dipped her brush into the product only once and applied it lightly to both cheeks. Genius.
Although Jordyn Woods' low-key look didn't require much highlight, Ashley noted just a touch on her nose.
It's hard to resist just a little extra glow, right? Alissa Ashley selected the Jelly Highlighter ($30, Too Faced) in the shade Gilded Champagne.
After a final spritz of setting spray, the only step left was lips. Ashley mixed a few different shades to get the perfect nude.
She blended three lip products: Brand Nude Semi-Matte Lipstick ($17, Mented Cosmetics), Pat McGrath LuxeTrance Lipstick ($38, Sephora) in the shade La Beija, and Glossier Lip Gloss ($14, Glossier).
The final results were just as drop-dead gorgeous as Jordyn Woods' original glam.
Now we can all do our own versions!
