Sheet Masks For Butts Are A Thing, And I Tried Every Single One Of Them

Like many women, one of my favorite parts of my body is my butt. It's not too big, not too small, and it gives me just the right amount of poke that I need. And now that's summer's here, I'm pulling out all the clothes that accentuate and show off my curves, especially swimsuits

But when it comes to our beauty routines, our butts don't get nearly enough love. However, one innovative and rear-end-loving company is changing all of that. Its name is Bawdy Beauty, and it recently created the first-ever sheet masks made for that special area back there. The masks themselves do everything a normal face mask does except even better.

So to find out what all the hype was about, I tried it myself, and was pleasantly surprised. Let's just say I'll be flaunting my stuff this summer.

The second I heard the words "butt mask," I was intrigued.

I'm a sheet mask hag. On any given night you'll catch me strutting around my home being supremely extra with a sheet mask across my face, ridding away the impurities of the day prior, and adding some much-needed hydration to my sometimes very dry skin. So when I heard about sheet masks made especially for your butt being used this past February at fashion week, in particularly at Chromat, my wheels got to turning.

Months later, summer is upon us. I'll be showing more skin, and a radiant rear end is more important to me than ever. So I turned to Bawdy Beauty's four sheet masks to help, silly as it sounded to me at first. They promise to plump, firm, hydrate, and detoxify, leaving your butt looking more scrumptious than ever before. After months of putting it off, I finally decided to give them a try to see if these sheet masks for your hind parts actually work, and these are my results.

But first, this is how you use them.

I initially thought that the butt mask was one piece, like a face mask, therefore having to be done while laying down, but I was wrong. The masks come in two individual sheets, one for each cheek — luckily they adhere effortlessly to the skin. You can go on about your regular routine while wearing it. While masking I threw in a load of laundry, did the dishes, and even busted out a few squats. Because hey, why not tone while toning? I left it on for 20 minutes, removed the sheets, and rubbed in the rest of the solution for optimal results.

Here's my unfiltered opinion on all four.

First, I tried the Bite It Hydrating + Toning Butt Sheet Mask ($9, Ulta)

What It Promises: To leave skin plump, dewy, and super smooth. The plumping plant-based collagen is supposed to tone and firm skin, the hydrating sodium hyaluronate is meant to hydrate dry skin and prevent sagging, the aloe leaf juice regenerates the skin, and the soothing chamomile is an anti-bacterial.

My Thoughts: Plumpness sure isn't something I need help with, to be honest (nor do I think butts need it to look spectacular). I have quite a bit of size I'm working with back there, but I could sure use some hydrating. Once I removed the mask, my derrière was smooth as ever — I'm talking baby's bottom smooth. I had to do a few double takes to make sure that what I was seeing was real life. It had a glow to it, almost the same kind of glow my face gets when I've completed my nightly routine. It was like I had tried a butt serum.

Next I had some fun with the Shake It Firming + Illuminating Butt Sheet Mask ($9, Ulta)

What It Promises: To tone, firm, and plump. The chamomile is infused to soothe and acts as an antibacterial, the blue algae helps with anti-oxidizing, and the oat extract firms.

My Thoughts: My skin looked visibly firmer, almost as if I had done some kind of clarifying clay mask on my butt, and I'm going to have to say, this would be the first one I turn to before an impromptu trip to the beach. You know those butts that you see on, like, Sol De Janeiro ads? This is the closest mine has ever come to being one of those.

Slap It Retexturizing + Detoxifying Butt Sheet Mask ($9, Ulta)

What It Promises: Made with caffeine, it vows to "re-texturize" and detoxify the skin. It helps improve texture and tone by reducing the orange peel effect — leaving skin plump, hydrated, and super smooth. The caffeine detoxifies, the aloe leaf juice regenerates, the orange peel exfoliates, and the goji berry acts as an antioxidant.

My Thoughts: My skin felt the smoothest after using this one, and given the many exfoliating ingredients, I knew it would. It tingled just a bit, and that's when I knew that my rear end was really about to transform. I definitely understand why this one is named Slap It, that's exactly what I was doing after using this bad boy.

And last but not least, I tried the Squeeze It Brightening + Rejuvenating Butt Sheet Mask ($9, Ulta)

What It Promises: To help reduce the appearance of blemishes and alleviate dullness, leaving skin plump, hydrated, and radiant-looking. The lemon brightens, the cucumber refreshes, the orange peel exfoliates, and the grapefruit evens skin tone.

My Thoughts: For anyone with butt blemishes like myself (be honest, now), this is perfect. The many brightening agents work to gradually reduce the appearance of dark marks and scars. After just one use my blemishes appeared more faint, and I'm certain that after a few more uses they'll fade even more.

Who knew butt masking could be so satisfying?

There's no shame in my game: Butt masking is my newest addition to my beauty routine, and it should be a part of yours, too, if you're looking to try something new for beac season. I'd use these again and again and again, — and I will. I even tried a face sheet mask while using bawdy beauty and I was smooth from the front all the way to the back, literally.

Suns out, buns out.
