Bella Thorne is practically an open book. She's taken us into the deepest parts of her life from sexuality all the way to skin care. Recently, she revealed her go-to treatment for lightening her acne scars. Though the method might not be for all, including those with weak stomachs, it's a treatment that's making quite the waves.
Behold, micro-needling.
If there's one thing the actress and singer loves to do, it's share all the details of her life via social media.

And one of the details she's shared is her struggle with acne.

However, her approach to skin care is anything but conventional, just like her.

For example, Thorne recently told The Cut that she conceals her acne simply by highlighting her freckles.

And this week, she took to Instagram to show us the (literally) bloody treatment she uses to cure her acne scars: micro-needling.

Jennifer Gerace of Beverly Hills Skincare Muse is Thorne's aesthetician and a Hollywood favorite for the treatment.
Micro-needling is the beauty craze known for revealing rejuvenated and renewed-looking skin.

But not without some serious plasma.
What exactly is this bloody skin treatment that celebs and everyday women alike are loving and relying on for clear skin?

Dr. Tara Rao of Schweiger Dermatology Group in NYC told Teen Vogue, "Micro-needling is a procedure where tiny needles are passed over the skin."

"This procedure creates microscopic holes in the skin that cause new collagen to be formed. It is very helpful in treating various forms of acne scarring."
Revealing a basically new layer of skin, micro-needling significantly reduces discoloration left by acne.

While there are a million at-home micro-needling kits, you can ruin your skin if you don't use them correctly.

Speak to your dermatologist or aesthetician to know what form of micro-needling, if any, is best for you.

Thanks, Bella. We can always count on you to give us the real.

Bye-bye, scars.
