Despite its cool-girl aesthetic, innovative formulas, and care-free vibe, Glossier gets a lot of hate.
And what for? Probably its price tags, which — let's be real — aren't all that pricier than Sephora's and Ulta's bestselling brands. But avid customers who've spent the dough and actually tried the products know that Glossier is almost always worth the hype its given on Instagram.
If you still don't believe me, let me take you through some of Glossier's best-rated buys. Because if you haven't at least tried them, you're missing out on some seriously good skin care and makeup.
Milky Jelly Cleanser, $18
The holy grail of Glossier products, I'm giving it to you first to spare any confusion. This jelly-textured cleanser is soothing, removed makeup easily, and leaves skin soft and supple.
It contains soothing ingredient allantoin and panthenol, which promotes wound healing so it's safe to use on active or freshly picked pimples.
A glowing customer review:
"I have longed for smooth skin since….well puberty. Although I never had cystic acne, I have been plagued by the all too occasional pimple. However, after one month of using this cleanser I can tell you that my skin has never looked or felt better. Yes, you either love or hate the smell but I can assure you that your skin will thank you for using this product!"
Cloud Paint, $18
For use on the cheeks, lips, and eyes, Cloud Paint gives a soft baby blush that's equal parts natural and glam.
A glowing review:
"I was skeptical to try a liquid blush, but this stuff is heaven. A little goes a long way. You definitely want to start with a small amount and work your way up to the color you desire!"
Solution Exfoliating Skin Perfector, $24
Solution is a glycolic acid toner and, and it's definitely not for the dry- or sensitive-skinned folks out there. But, for everybody else, this chemical exfoliant can brighten, clear blemishes, and smooth skin.
The chemicals can be stringent for some, but it does contain some soothing ingredients such as niacinamide.
A glowing review:
"I can't even deal with how much I love this stuff. I've been using this product nightly for about three months now and I'm obsessed. I've never had terrible skin, but since I began using this product, I have fewer breakouts and my skin is so smooth and glowing. I'm trying to look like I'm 25 forever…this product is key!"
Super Pure Serum, $28
Speaking of niacinamide, Glossier provides it in buckets with this puppy. Super Pure is a serum that has zinc and vitamin B3 as well to minimize redness and breakouts.
A glowing review:
"I've always been prone to the occasional stress-induced breakout — you college ladies know what I'm talkin bout — but oh my lord this stuff is magic. I'm on day four and my skin is less oily, less red, and my pores are microscopic. Breakouts have ceased and desisted. Stress and hangover food ain't got nothing on this stuff."
Soothing Face Mist, $15
I'm a rosewater stan, and if you are too, you'll understand the hype around this face mist. Its gentle scent is floral, sophisticated, and relaxing — but it's not potent enough to dry you out.
A glowing review:
"My roommate got me this mist for my birthday and I love it! I have used lots of different brands of rose water and this is by far my favorite! I use it morning and night and it has helped me stay moisturized."
Priming Moisturizer, $22
This cult favorite moisturizer has shea butter and camellia sinensis, a two-for one combo punch to tackle dryness and irritation.
A glowing review:
"I absolutely adore this product! Its super hydrating and lightweight. I have acne-prone skin, and I use a lot of products for my acne that sometimes tend dry out my skin, and this product hydrates my skin so nicely. Its a perfect moisturizer for after cleansing, under makeup, or just to wear alone. With this product my skin has never looked so glowy. I will definitely be repurchasing this!"
Priming Moisturizer Rich, $35
Another fan favorite, the Priming Moisturizer Rich is a thicker formula for folks who need a deeper level of hydration. The price is a little highter, but it has more intense hydrators such as murumuru butter and red algae complex.
A glowing review:
"I have extremely dry skin and this is the only thing that feels like enough moisture! It's silky and smooth never feeling dry throughout the day and night."
Balm Dotcom, $12
I'm a chapstick fanatic. I need lip balms. I need Vaseline. You know, the thick stuff. That maeks a tinted lip balm with legit healing ingredients is what I've been dreaming of.
Turns out everyone else has been, too. Balm Dotcom is one of the highest rated products on Glossier and comes in six unique flavors.
Read this glowing review:
"I have Birthday Balm Dotcom and it's my go-to for when my lips are dry. When I apply it before bed, I wake up with super soft lips + I can feel some of the product still on. I've also applied a little bit of it over lipstick and it makes my lips feel + look much better (the sparkle is super cute.)"
Stretch Concealer, $18
Highly-rated with five pigmented shades, this concealer is adored by some of the hottest makeup artists out in these streets.
A glowing review:
I love how easy it is to apply it and how it just blends in naturally to my skin. It feels super lightweight and my favorite thing by far from this product is how natural it looks and feels and a big plus for me would also be that it's crease less. Great product! Definitely worth your penny!
You Fragrance, $60
Something about this perfume is so sexy and understated that from the first time I smelled it, it was on and poppin'. Everyone else seems to think so, too; it's one of Glossier's most well-reviewed products.
A glowing review:
"This is the scent most people are looking for; how perfume smells at the end of the day. This is THAT scent. This smells different on everybody, but smells great ON EVERYBODY. This smells like an elegant, put-together woman. musky, comfy and powdery. Perfection."
Boy Brow, $16
According to my estimate, Boy Brow is the most-hyped of all hyped Glossier products. So let's hear what the people think.
A glowing review:
"Never did I ever think a MALE would comment on my eyebrows of all things but every man I have dated since using boy brow has complimented my brows specifically. True story. So easy to apply too!"
Lash Slick, $16
Guys, I'm not in charge of naming these products. I'm just here to give you the facts.
And the verdict is in: Glossier's mascara is a buildable mascara that defines, lengthens and (most importantly) strengthens your lashes with vegan biotin.
A glowing review:
"Honestly this is the best mascara EVER. Nothing else to say."
Haloscope, $22
Haloscope, like a lot of Glossier products, has both coconut oil and sweet almond oil extracts. Both ingredients can be inflammatory on acne-prone skin but deliciously glowy on dry or normal skin types.
A glowing review:
"Hands down my favorite cream highlight. I loved powder highlighters like no other but as soon as I put this on I have no stopped!! It looks like your skin is wet and dewy and its amazing. It took a little but of trial and error to get it to look the way I wanted. I recommend using a finger vs swiping it on your face. I take a clean finger and in circular motions pick up product and this way warms it up as well, then i dab it onto my cheekbones and lightly put some powder over the top so it doesn't feel too sticky."
Wowder Duo, $35
Glossier's powder, aka Wowder, is a cute take on oil-absorping setting powder. It comes in three shades and has kaolin, which, if you know your clay masks, means it'll soak up oil like crazy. It also touts diamond powder in its ingredient list, and that's so fancy that I don't even know what to do now.
A glowing review:
"This isn't super mattifying, but it helps naturally control shine. I'm most impressed by the coverage – it smooths and evens skin tone without covering up your skin, and it matches my skin even though I'm very pale. Highly recommend!"
Lip Gloss, $14
It's only right that we round up our Glossier list with the gloss. If you're like me and you love shiny shiny lip gloss, this is your girl. She's got Vitamin E for hydration and "gloss-lock technology."
A glowing review:
"I love this product! my lips are perpetually dry but this moisturizes them and looks amazing. It's gorgeous over a bright lipstick and on it's own; it's super smooth. It also smells really nice but isn't overpowering at all. My only complaint is the size: I've had it for nearly two months and it's already almost half done. It can also be used on the eyes for a glossy eyeshadow look."
