There's no denying that our ozone layer is swiftly withering away, though some very misled people may tell you otherwise. Little by little, the effects of climate change are revealing themselves in more ways than one, and it's even spilling over into hair. One popular TikToker just proved that in the most outrageous way; it involved a scorching California metal pole, her hair, and a near-perfect spiral.
Check out the surprising results ahead.
Everyone, meet Nikki.
Nikki is a Los Angeles resident and Marymount grad who in her free time creates pretty cool TikToks. She has 33,000 followers on the app, FYI. Since her graduation this May, she's been living her best life in the streets of California.
Well, Nikki just went viral.
And it wasn't for one of her sing-along TikToks. Instead, it was for her decision to curl her hair using a hot metal pole on a scorching day. The daring decision now has more than a million views, and everyone is freaking out about how it all ended. Watch closely.
Nikki slowly wrapped her hair around the pole.
Being careful as she wrapped her hair little by little around the pole and jumping when her hands made contact with the scorching metal, Nikki cautiously spiraled her hair around the pole's perimeter; she then left it for around 10 to 15 seconds. We all looked on in suspense wondering if it would all be an epic fail.
But what happened next was a near-perfect spiral curl!
And we literally mean perfect — the type of curls that all of the celebs wear for the most fancy events, and hairstylists die to re-create. It was a perfectly loose wave on her auburn hair, and we could hardly believe it. "Imagine the AZ weather!! Probably catch your hair on fire," one commenter noted.
She was in shock herself.
Nikki could hardly believe what she was seeing. Spending a few minutes in a complete state of confusion, she pulled it together. Of course, the reactions are hilarious. "Global warming guys," one person commented. "Let’s welcome her to Dubai , 10x hotter than California," another said.
But for those of us who don't have immediate access to piping hot poles, you can still achieve the same look.

Get this look without possibly scorching your arms and hands in the process. You can achieve the same waves from the comfort of your own home instead of having to locate the nearest overheated pole. This wand will switch up and simplify your styling routine for long-lasting, modern waves. The wand's BioCeramic heaters keep the heat constant — allowing curls and waves to last an “eternity.”
We're just happy it didn't turn into this.

Had that pole been any hotter, this very well could have been the result. Those who know, know.
