Want Kardashian-West style but don't have Kardashian-West money? YouTube royalty Carli Bybel is here to help you out.
The vlogger recently came across a tutorial for DIY Yeezy-inspired sock boots on Instagram (similar to the ones featured in Kanye West's most recent Fashion Week show) and figured out a way create her own Kanye-approved footwear — but for way less $$$.
Here's what the real things ($895 a pop) look like, as seen recently on Kendall Jenner (right) and Hailey Baldwin (left).
You only need two things to DIY the look: plain-colored pumps and socks.
Bybel recommends black pumps for dark-colored socks and nude or white heels for lighter socks.
Grab your favorite pair of socks and stretch them over your shoes.
Pull them all the way up so that "the sock is super tight underneath your feet," Bybel suggested.
If the material is thin enough, use the heel to poke a hole through the sock.
If you have a thicker sock, reach for some scissors and cut a small hole to slide the heel through.
BAM.
To prevent your sock boots from sliding all over the floor, use sandpaper to cover the bottom of the shoe.
Just cut out sections of sandpaper to fit the outer soles.
Smear the smooth side with hot glue.
Then firmly press the sandpaper against the shoe.
Voilà! You've created your own pair of "Yeezy" sock boots.
This DIY is beyond simple to do...
...and cheap AF. Bybel was able to create several different sock-and-shoe combinations on a $20 budget.
Price includes the sandpaper and new glue gun she purchased for the project, but excludes the price of the heels that she already owned.
