It's crazy to think that women used to do everything in their power to hide their freckles, because now women are doing anything to get them, from drawing them on with eyeliner pencil to creating them with henna for a longer wear. The once undesirable facial feature is now something many are wishing they had, but what many don't consider is the trial and error that comes with achieving a natural faux-freckled look.
Beauty YouTuber Naomi Jon, however, does. After her hilarious freckle fail went viral a few months back, she's redeeming herself, and we love the results.
If you don't know by now, this is Naomi Jon.
The German YouTuber, whose makeup transformations are always a sight to behold, is the real deal. She also has an affinity for freckles.
And though her makeup tutorials are what made her famous, she recently found her fanbase growing from another kind of video.
Her recent faux-freckle fail left us hunched over in laughter. What started off as a seemingly successful tutorial quickly took a turn for the worst.
The first time Jon tried applying faux freckles with henna, it turned her face beet red — all the remedies she tried only made the situation worse.

She applied oil to the skin to help offset the redness, which had completely adverse effects.
Not even full-coverage makeup could cover the freckle faux-pas.

But through it all, Jon stayed super positive and surprisingly amused. We can't say we would have been so optimistic.
But this week, Jon returned to redeem herself.

Her most recent experience with henna is proving to be a much better one than before.
And the henna freckle results were a complete 180 from her previous debacle.

It looks like Jon used a much more reliable and much more muted form of henna this time around.
First, she tested the henna on her hand after prepping her skin with oil.

After her first experience, we don't blame her for giving it a test run.
She quickly realized her updated henna formula had a much more subtle color payoff.

It looks like she's getting somewhere with this …
Then came the fun part.

Jon began to apply the freckles as desired all over her face.
At first, she was conservative with the amount she applied.

Playing it safe was a smart move.
But then she said screw it and went for it all over again.

She applied the henna all over and barely left any skin untouched.
The results were surprising.

The freckles looked extremely natural. In fact, you could barely tell that they were there at all.
Check out the tutorial for yourself.
Been thinking about trying it yourself? Jon might've found the henna brand for you.
We'd say the results deserve a celebration.

Go, Naomi, go!
