Pregnancies aren't always planned. In fact, sometimes a couple conceives despite being on birth control or taking other active steps to prevent it. What an expecting person decides to do afterward is completely her decision, but one Gen Z couple who experienced a surprise pregnancy wouldn't change a thing.
Maggie and Danny Corbould, who are both 23, are parents to a 2-year-old son. The Windsor, England, couple learned Maggie was pregnant just one month into their romance. And their whirlwind love story all started on the dating app Hinge.

They met in February 2022, and it was love at first sight.
In February 2022, Maggie and Danny met for the first time after connecting on Hinge.
"I saw Danny’s profile, and I didn’t have any likes left,” Maggie told SWNS, per the New York Post. “I paid to do so and sent a message. We met on a whim and talked for hours in the car. We both really fell for each other.”
“I’m a very unsure person, but as soon as I met her, I knew I loved her,” Danny told the media outlet. “I wanted to be with her every day and spend all my time with her. I just had a feeling that I’d never felt with previous girlfriends.”
The following month, Maggie discovered she was pregnant.
In March, the couple was "shocked" to find out that Maggie was pregnant. Because she was on birth control at the time, Danny thought she was joking at first. They concluded they must have conceived roughly a week after they met.

They decided to get married.
Ultimately, Maggie and Danny decided to continue the pregnancy and keep their baby. They initially lived with Maggie's dad. In June 2022, however, they married so they could benefit from military housing.
Baby Edward was born in December 2022.

On December 26, 2022, Maggie and Danny welcomed a baby boy named Edward. Maggie was induced at 37 weeks pregnant so Danny could be present for the birth before deployment.
“I remember hearing some sort of weird noises,” Maggie told SWNS. “It was Danny just sobbing and holding him. It doesn’t feel real.”

They don’t regret anything.
Today, Edward is 15 months old and learning to walk.
“I think people expect us to have broken up,” Maggie said of marrying and starting a family so young and so soon after starting a relationship. “When I look back, I wouldn’t do it differently at all. That little boy is my whole world.”
Dating app love stories have, of course, become more common in recent years. One survey revealed that 40% of people in a relationship with someone they met on a dating app met on Tinder. Of those engaged or married to a partner from a dating app, 29.6% met on Tinder, while 12.9% met on Bumble, and 5% met on Hinge.
