For the past decade, I’ve been on a mission to find a weekend travel bag big enough that I could actually use for weekend travel.
It’s here where I confess that I have been using the same old, broken-zipper bag that I got for free from Victoria’s Secret back in the early 2000s that I have never been able to replicate in size or convenience.
For some reason, all of the weekend travel bags I found and tried from Amazon were way too small. Just who were these women traveling for the weekend that could fit all of their things in a tiny bag? These days, the majority of my “travel” is to spend weekends at a hotel for my kids’ sporting events, but even for those quick trips, I still want a bag that can fit these things:
- A pair of workout shoes and workout clothes in case I want to hit the hotel gym
- A travel fan (can’t sleep without it!)
- Pajamas
- All of my toiletries
- Sweatshirt and sweatpants for comfort and warmth while lounging
- Snacks
- A book I will never actually read
- Chargers to make it through the weekend
It’s a lot of stuff, but I don’t think it’s a lot to ask. However, I haven’t been able to find a bag big enough to fit it all – until now. My husband is actually the one who finally found this bag on Amazon for me. I tested it out last weekend and am happy to report that it’s perfect.

Do you want to hear how my husband was finally able to find this bag for me, even after I have searched for years? He searched for a man’s bag.
That’s right. Apparently, the algorithms are designed around the belief that only men have important stuff to carry around. I wasn’t able to find a big enough duffle bag while searching for a women’s bag on my own Amazon account, but he found this giant bag for me almost immediately when searching his account for men’s duffle bags. It’s annoying, but I am glad he finally found one for me.
The bag is 34-by-14-by 16 inches and can be folded into a compact size, but it has a full 120-liter capacity. One of my favorite features is its two end side pocket compartments, so you can stash shoes or other items you don’t want to be with the main items in your bag.
I was able to fit everything I wanted in my bag, including my travel fan, shoes, and a full change of clothes for me and my daughter, with plenty of room to spare.

The bag is made of polyester, so it’s water-resistant and durable to be dragged around. I just so happened to travel in the midst of a terrible rainstorm, so I can confirm that it is very water-resistant.
I also appreciated that the bag has two carrying handles as well as a detachable shoulder strap, which is what I preferred to use while lugging it around with my kids in tow to keep my hands free. There’s also a sleeve on the back of the bag so you can attach it securely to a luggage handle if you prefer.
