I Haven’t Worn Anything But Loungewear In Months and These Are My Absolute Favorites

In February, a few weeks before New York City issued its stay-at-home orders, my fiancé and I went to Mexico on vacation. That was the last time I wore real clothes. I wish I could tell you I'm joking, but I'm not. Since mid-March, I've worn sweatshirts, sweatpants, joggers, leggings, athletic shorts, and … that's about it. I bought tons of "casual bras," super soft sweats, and anything that could be described as cozy. And over the past few months, I've learned that not all loungewear is made the same. Here are some of my absolute favorite loungewear items I've found this year.

Mae Seamless Bralette

At the beginning of the summer, I was looking for new bralettes to wear around the house and while walking my dog. I didn't want to waste money on a bra I wouldn't like, so I wanted to find something inexpensive. When I bought this bra, I had low expectations — but I am obsessed with it. I'm currently wearing it as I write this article. I bought the light blue color and I'm definitely considering buying the black and white versions, too. If you're looking for a comfy at-home bra that provides just a little bit of support, I cannot recommend this bra enough.

Yummie Baby French Terry Slim Leg Jogger & V-neck Drop Shoulder Tee

One of the biggest trends this year was matching loungewear outfits, and it's a trend I absolutely love. I have a lot of sweatpants and sweatshirts, but very few matching outfits. When I came across Yummie's loungewear, I immediately fell in love with the Baby French Terry Slim Leg Jogger & V-neck Drop Shoulder Tee — so I got both pieces. And let me tell you… they are so soft. I've worn the pants more than the shirt, because it feels a little more versatile, but I love wearing the shirt and joggers together.

Taos Star Canvas Sneakers

I'll be honest, some of the products that have gotten the most use in my life in the past few months are my sneakers. I've gone for a lot of long walks with my dog (it's been a nice way to get out of the house), so I've been looking for solid sneakers that are cuter than my go-to running shoes. Enter Taos. These canvas sneakers are super comfortable and make me look just a little bit more put together than when I wear regular running shoes. I got the all white ones because I love that bright shoe look, but they have a ton of other options that are equally cute!

Women's Scoop Neck Ribbed Bralette — Colsie

Obviously, I love a good bralette, and this one is amazing. This lightweight ribbed bralette is so comfortable. I know it looks tiny, but it's surprisingly supportive! (I'm a 36C, and it would easily work for people who have bigger breasts than me.) And for only $7, you truly can't beat the price!

UpWest Super Soft Check Sherpa

As the weather has cooled off, I've looked for clothes that will not only keep me comfortable, but warm. This Super Soft Check Sherpa is everything I could have asked for and more. It's so soft and cozy — I could wear it out to meet friends for a socially distant park hangout or wear it to sleep. It's truly a perfect item of clothing and I can't think of anyone who wouldn't love it.

Old Navy Relaxed Vintage Crew-Neck Sweatshirt for Women

OK, I'll be honest, this isn't actually a sweatshirt I own (yet), but my best friend has it and absolutely loves it. Every time we video chat, I'm always impressed by how cute it is and she assures me it's ridiculously comfortable. It comes in three equally adorable tie-dye patterns, and I honestly want all of them. Even though it's super cozy, it's also cute enough to wear out of the house or on a work Zoom and still look put together.

Italic Upper Shearling Lined Slipper

In the chilly winter months, I truly believe everyone needs a pair of super cozy slippers. And when it comes to slippers, I have a few personal requirements: they have to be cute, comfortable, have a real sole (so I can wear them to take out the garbage or let my dog outside), keep my feet warm, and not break the bank. And I think I've finally found the perfect pair: these Upper Shearling Lined Slippers from Italic. I have them in pink and they're so cute. (Italic requires a membership to access their discounted prices, but it's so worth it.)

Women's Solid Neon Tipping Ankle Sock 6-Pack

OK, I know it might seem crazy to be obsessed with a sock brand, but that's the only way to describe how I feel about Bombas. I got a pair about a year ago in PR and didn't try them for a while — I've always been more of a thin sock person, and I assumed these athletic socks would feel too thick and uncomfortable. Boy, was I wrong. Bombas are the most comfortable socks I've ever owned in my life, and they actually provide foot support! For my birthday, my fiancé bought me a six-pack and I honestly get sad when I get through all seven pairs before I have time to do laundry. As if the comfort wasn't enough, Bombas donates a pair of socks for every pair that's purchased.

UpWest Color Block Sweatshirt

This sweatshirt is perfect for working from home. Although it's a classic sweatshirt in feel, it's structured in a way that makes it look more professional. Every time I wear this sweatshirt, I feel more put together than usual — but just as comfortable as always.

California Cowboy Women’s La Sirena Kimono

This might sound crazy, but one of my favorite things about going to the spa is wearing the super plush robes. Now, I can feel that way in my own home. With the California Cowboy La Sirena Kimono, every day feels like a spa day. The kimono is super comfortable, it has a waterproof pocket for technology, a secure sunglasses loop, and a champagne bottle pocket (seriously). I can't wait to wear this to the pool/beach in the summer, but for now I'll happily just wear it as I lounge about my house.

Phenomenally Soft Crewneck Sweatshirt (Pink) — Ambitious

Screen_Shot_2020-12-14_at_3.17.09_PM.jpg

I've been obsessed with Meena Harris' Phenomenal brand for a long time — and when I finally got this 'Ambitious' sweatshirt for my birthday, I was thrilled. Not only is it a gorgeous color with a meaningful message, it's also super comfortable. This sweatshirt is long (almost tunic-length), so it's perfect for pairing with a comfy pair of leggings.

Bobeau Flocked Zip Hoodie

Screen_Shot_2020-12-14_at_2.59.33_PM.jpg

In New York, it gets cold in the winter — but I'm not a huge fan of big puffy jackets. Instead, I like to wear warm layers, like long-sleeved shirts, hoodies, and sweatshirts. This flocked zip hoodie is perfect for cold weather, since it's lined with ultraplush high-pile fleece.

Roots Original Slim Cuff Sweatpant

Screen_Shot_2020-12-22_at_2.55.33_PM.jpg

When it comes to sweatpants, I'm pretty picky. They have to be warm but not too warm, comfortable enough to sleep in, but cute enough to wear to the store, and long-lasting. I've had these sweatpants from Roots for at least five or six years, and they're still as warm and comfortable as ever (and they're not falling apart. These sweats are very popular in Canada (Roots is a Canadian brand), but they haven't blown up in the U.S. yet — and honestly, they should.

SummerSalt The Softest French Terry Relaxed Crew & Jogger

Screen_Shot_2020-12-02_at_3.16.59_PM.jpg

Ever since this spring, I've been looking for a full cozy tie-dye outfit. When I saw this cotton candy pink sweatshirt and jogger combo from SummerSalt, I was in love. I needed it. And let me tell you, it's SO worth it. I won't lie — I haven't taken it off since it came in the mail. The material is soft and lightweight, but it still feels warm and cozy — perfect for these colder months working from home.

The crew neck sweatshirt retails for $65.00 and the joggers retail for $80.00.

Invisibobble The Traceless Hair Ring

Screen_Shot_2020-12-22_at_3.01.43_PM.jpg

I know a hair product is technically not loungewear, but no loungewear look is complete without a classic messy bun. Whe I first got a set of Invisibobble hair rings, I was VERY skeptical — I normally don't like any sort of plastic hair ties (and believe me, I've tried them all). I decided to give it a go after seeing the great reviews, and let me just tell you, Invisibobble lives up to the hype. I've been using the same clear hair ring for months now, and I honestly won't use anything else.
