If you grew up in the days before YouTubers, you knew Jeffree Star not as a beauty vlogger and indie makeup king, but as a megastar on Myspace and in the alternative music scene.
Star's career path might have changed slightly throughout the years, but his dedication to breaking every rule possible — and his super-pink aesthetic — hasn't changed.

Then won the Best Hair superlative at his high school.
And hadn't even changed his name to Jeffree Star yet.
When he developed his signature pink 'do.
Along with this white-blonde pixie.
And those razor-sharp brows, which he's ditched since.
And that was just before he became a high-key Myspace celebrity.
Who posed on plush bedspreads with sky-high faux-hawks.
And modeled in school buses — in outfits that were ironically in violation of most dress codes.
And had multiple grills.
Back when Beauty Killer was an electronica album instead of an eye shadow palette.
Which led to photo shoots like this one.
And this one.
Oh, and THIS one.
It was all very Myspace chic.
His music landed him a a spot on the 2009 Warped Tour.
And he had merchandise!
Once, he even met a pre-Bangerz Miley Cyrus.
And hung out with Kat Von D before you-know-what happened.
Still, even way back then, it was all about the makeup for Jeffree.
Some things just never change, I guess.
