Jeffree Star covered up his tattoos and he’s completely unrecognizable

Jeffree Star's been covered head-to-toe in tattoos since long before the birth of his YouTube channel. They're such an intrinsic part of who he is that it's almost impossible to imagine how he might look without them… until now.

BEHOLD: Jeffree Star without tattoos.

Holy hell. Between the lack of tattoos, the gray undercut, and the eyebrows, I found it hard to believe this was Jeffree AT ALL. But it definitely was.

It was a miracle performed not by Photoshop, but by makeup Artist Lipstick Nick.

It's a good thing she was around, because Star had never covered his tattoos before, and it took HOURS. She recreated the entire look — except for the hair, which Star says the work of very good photography — for YouTube.

She started by covering all of his ink in an orange-red concealer.

She used Lancome's Teint Idole Ultra Wear Camouflage Color Corrector in Orange/Red ($31, Sephora), but she says anything in the same color family (even lipstick) would have worked.

Then she covered him in a brightening foundation.

Makeup Forever's Ultra HD Foundation in Alabaster ($43, Makeup Forever) was just light enough to brighten all of that red.

THEN, like the makeup wizard she is, Nick mixed two other foundations to make sure it looked like Star's real skin.

Somehow, Nick's combo of two different Makeup Forever Ultra HD Stick Foundations ($43, Makeup Forever) was an exact match.

Girl had to use a LOT of setting powder in between each step, too. Luckily, it was just Kryolan Anti-Shine Powder (which you can pick up for around $20 at your local beauty supply store) instead of Star's usual Laura Mercier or Chanel powder.

Stay with me, because it doesn't end there. Nick contoured his ENTIRE BODY, too.

With Tom Ford Bronzing Powder ($68, Sephora) and Jeffree Star Skin Frost in Peach Goddess ($29, Jeffree Star Cosmetics).

Arguably the most uncomfortable part of all of this, she used a liquid lipstick to paint his nipples back in.

Specifically, the Velour Liquid Lipstick in Rose Matter ($18, Jeffree Star Cosmetics). Celebrity Skin was too dark.

On to the face. The rest of his makeup was applied as usual, save for one exception. Those are LACE-FRONT eye brows.

Which, apparently, are a real thing. Star shaved off his brows ages ago, so seeing him with what looks like natural brow hair is CRAZY.

Every hour was worth it, though, because the final product was everything.
