Kylie Jenner is the queen of hair transformations. Granted, she usually just swaps out her wig to venture into other shades and styles, because when you have that much money, you can do whatever you want. This time around, however, it appears she's taken the plunge and dyed her real locks. Plus, the look is actually super affordable and you can easily accomplish it yourself.
Jenner debuted her new color over the weekend: pastel bubblegum pink.
Celebrity hairstylist and Color Wow Ambassador Chris Appleton was the magician behind the transformation. He's worked with the Kardashian/Jenner clan many times before. Remember Kris Jenner's platinum blonde pixie? Yeah, that was him.
The millennial pink hue was achieved by mixing two shades of Lime Crime Unicorn Hair Tint and a toner and applying the color for 45 minutes.
Of course, any hair color transformation poses the risk of damage. So, to protect Jenner's hair, Appleton used Olaplex, a bond protecting treatment, and Color Wow's Kale Cocktail.
And he definitely did an amazing job, because this hair color is to "dye" for. Also, kudos to Jenner for actually coloring her own hair. It takes guts!
Lucky for us, we can all copycat Jenner's bubblegum pink hair without breaking the bank. And we can undergo the magical unicorn transformation from our own bathrooms. Here's how!
Appleton first chose Lime Crime Unicorn Hair Tint ($16, Lime Crime) in the shade "Bunny." It's a semi-permanent fantasy hair color that's ultra-conditioning and comes in a DIY-friendly, damage-free formula.

He mixed it with more Unicorn Hair Tint ($16, Lime Crime) in the light-purple shade "Kawaii." BTW, these hair tints are also 100% vegan and cruelty-free, so you can feel good about using them.

To finish the color cocktail, Appleton added in the Unicorn Hair Dilute Hair Mixer ($16, Lime Crime). It basically helps mute the color for a totally pastel tone. Mix together all three shades until they're mixed evenly.

If you prefer a less permanent option, you can achieve a similar shade with Kristin Ess Temporary Tint in Rose Gold ($12, Target). Just spray it on in the shower, and it'll last you through the weekend.

If you want an easier way to keep your color vibrant, try Celeb Luxury Viral Colorwash in Light Pink ($27, Walmart). Replace your shampoo with this color rinse and get the magical unicorn hair of your dreams.

If you want Jenner's color without having to mix anything, try Punky Colour Semi-Permanent Conditioning Hair Color in Cotton Candy ($10, Ulta). If you have extremely long hair, grab yourself two tubs of this.

Hairstylists (Appleton included) cannot recommend the Olaplex Hair Perfector ($28, Sephora) enough. This treatment not only strengthens the bonds in your hair, but it also leaves it feeling like silk.

Oh, and to keep your color looking shiny and new, Appleton recommends Color Wow Color Security Conditioner ($23, Revolve). After he rinsed out Jenner's hair tint, he skipped the shampoo altogether and opted for this instead.
