Lizzo’s 12 best declarations of self-love

If you need a confidence boost or just a good laugh, Lizzo is your girl. The rapper is an internet star, not just for her insanely catchy songs, but because her self-love mission and body-positive mentality as well. She's completely unapologetic about her body and her sexuality, and that inspires her legions of fans.

If you need a refresher, here are some of Lizzo's most empowering self-love quotes. (Side note: This should be read only while listening to "Coconut Oil" on full volume.)

"This is me, and it’s not going to change."

The rapper discussed body positivity in an interview, where she described the moment when she *finally* realized she would never have the body she always fantasized about. Instead, what she had was better. It was her.

"I'M GOIN TO THE GYM RN BUT SHIT I STILL LOVE DIS BOOTY-DOO."

She once tweeted this just to let her followers know that working out does not equal body hate.

"Stay true to yourself. Listen to your body. Live life only by your rules."

She ALWAYS promotes communication with your "self" on Twitter.

"I'm done with the struggle. I just want to enjoy my body now."

Lizzo got real about her struggles with accepting her body, but said she ultimately learned the constant back-and-forth was only holding her back.

"Smiling cause I feel like it."

And she doesn't need any other reason to!

“I started writing these love songs to myself, and so my music is about love but it’s self love…. Dudes come and go, they’ll break your heart, unbreak your heart, and I think that I could never break my own heart."

Lizzo's music is so refreshing because it's not about loving someone else, but about loving herself and only herself. She spoke about this on Jonathan Van Ness's podcast, "Getting Curious."

"Made a decision to enjoy life. No more uncontrollable anxiety. No more fruitless competition."

The rapper acknowledged her mental health issues in an Instagram post, which ultimately was an exploration of self-love.

"I am my inspiration, I am my inspiration."

This proclamation of empowerment comes from her song, "Water Me."

"I’ve never been ‘sample size.' I’ll never be ‘sample size’ ... And I ain’t ‘plus sized’ I’m MY SIZE."

It's just a number, and she accepts that.

"'Scuse me while I feel myself."

In case you need a reminder, "FAT DOES NOT = UGLY," as Lizzo recently put it.

"Independent, athletic / I been sweating, doing calisthenics / Booty vicious, mind yo business / I been working, working on my fitness."

"Fitness" on repeat is a full self-love mood.
