A groom made a huge mistake on his wedding day and has gone viral on TikTok for it. Wedding day pranks and stunts seem to have become the new norm, and even though most are funny or heartwarming, it appears this groom took things overboard. The video was posted on TikTok by @viralsnare and has received over 11 million views and more than 3,000 comments. In the video, the bride and groom are seen running toward a pool presumably getting ready to jump in. The bride leaps in wearing her wedding dress, but the groom instead stays on the sidelines, letting her jump in alone. Whether he meant it to be a funny prank is unclear.
It is easy to imagine the bride's fury, however, as she had to swim out in a huge dress alone and completely soaked, while her spouse and all the wedding guests remained dry and watched.

It appeared the couple was meant to jump into the pool together.
The video starts with the newlyweds running toward the pool together, hand in hand, wearing formal wedding attire — a white wedding dress and a fancy suit. One can imagine it was meant to be an epic wedding photo and perhaps a photographer was standing off to the side waiting to capture the moment. The groom acts like he is jumping but then goes off to the side of the pool at the last moment and the bride ends up jumping in alone.
Meanwhile, the bride appears to have a tight smile as she starts making her way out of the pool with the groom off to the side, looking smug and clearly not realizing his mistake. It was a stunt done in very poor taste, according to all the comments on the video.

Elaborate stunts for photo ops or social media appear to be the new norm as this is not the first groom — or likely the last — to make this error.
Another groom made a similar mistake of embarrassing his newlywed wife at their wedding with a toast that revealed how they met for the first time. The video was posted by @knoxlandfilms. The groom mentioned that they met at a crickets club, started talking, and shared a kiss the same night but that when he left to get drinks, he returned to find Katie (the bride) kissing someone else.
As he started to tell the story, the camera panned to the bride and she started to look nervous and uncomfortable. The groom went on to say something about after having spent more time with her, he realized it was a fairly common occurrence for her at that time.
At this point the bride Katie was covering her face with her hands. He finished the speech with “Still to this day I’m pretty nervous to go to the bar and leave her unattended” and said “Let’s get on with the thank you’s. This marriage could be over tonight.”
That is quite some speech for a groom to give about his bride on their wedding day. He seems to have also missed the memo about not humiliating his new wife at the reception.
The wedding day can make or break a couple.
It is no surprise that at least 50% of marriages end in divorce, according to the American Psychological Association. But an important predictor of divorce can also be how happy a couple is when they tie the knot or even before. Some studies and research found that marital problems could surface as soon as the vows are said, as evidenced by the viral videos of grooms pranking their brides, per the association.
Couples with low satisfaction levels in the first four years had less satisfaction to begin with, the association noted.
A bride is already experiencing an insane amount of stress on her wedding day from the months of planning every tiny detail and doesn’t need the added stress of a humiliating prank, especially from someone who promised to love and support her always.
Social media users didn't have high hopes for this marriage.
Many TikTok users couldn’t believe what they had just watched and called the groom’s stunt, “brutal." Some said it was already “the end” of the marriage and relationship. Others went as far as to call it a “red flag.”
“Wow. End of marriage,” one person wrote.
“That marriage is over,” someone else wrote, commenting “The beginning of the end …”
“He’s a child. Huge red flag,” another person warned.
Others pointed out that the groom's job is to let the bride shine on the wedding day.
“I’ll bet that seemed funnier in his head before he actually executed it. On your wedding day you make her look her best (except during cake swap),” one person chimed in.
