James Charles is no stranger to beef. With everyone from Tati Westbrook to Jeffree Star and anyone else who isn't an adolescent YouTube obsessive, he's surely had his fair share of drama.
Nobody could have ever guessed, though, that the problematic influencer would have tension with someone like Stranger Things actress Millie Bobby Brown. However, after what appeared to be a cringe-inducing rejection on Instagram Live, rumors are swirling that Brown has negative feelings toward the makeup star — and Twitter is actually glad for it.
James Charles surely isn't afraid to let the world know how much he loves Millie Bobby Brown.
Back in January of 2014, he took to Twitter to profess his love for the teenage actress. "I think millie bobby brown is an actual angel that accidentally ended up on earth," he tweeted.
And when fans asked for a potential collab, the YouTuber said it would be a dream come true. "I would literally die but i'm sure she has far better things on her calendar to work on 🙁 maybe one day," he wrote.
But social media has never been too fond of the potential friendship.
So much so that months after his declaration, a fan created a fictional, satirical news post that Brown hit him with a car. How Regina George.
"Millie Bobby Brown has been arrested for allegedly driving over James Charles. Her mugshot has been released to the public earlier today. A spokesman for Millie said that she has no regrets 'i did what had to be done,'" a now viral tweet read.
And now people think that Brown may not be Charles' biggest fan, either.
In case you missed it, last week Charles decided to cold DM some of his favorite celebrities.
"HI SISTERS! In today's video, I decided to DM 100 of my favorite celebrities and ask them to pick products for my makeup routine! Will anyone actually answer? Will the finished look come together? Enjoy as you watch and find out!" he said.
As expected, most of them didn't provide a response or even saw his messages.
And when Charles began trying to contact Brown via Instagram Live, things got even more awkward.
Charles decided to comment on Brown's livestream while she was answering fan questions. When Charles offered to do the actress's makeup for an Instagram-based collaboration, she made a face that appeared to be of disgust, and she never acknowledged the comment.
Everyone noticed, of course, and are now wondering if Brown has some underlying beef with the problematic vlogger.
But Brown wasn't the only one who rejected Charles' advances.
Charles received a similar response when he commented during one of Panic! At The Disco frontman Brendon Urie's Instagram Lives.
"James Charles approached both Millie Bobby brown and Brendon Urie in their live streams to offer a collab, and they both ignored him lmao," someone tweeted, reveling in the rejections.
Fans think that Charles should go easy on the celebrity networking.
Maybe badgering celebrities on social media isn't the way to go for setting up collaborations.
"I was watching a livestream and @jamescharles is publicly begging Celebrities to collab with him it's so embarrassing I mean can't you take a hint. You're not an A lister nor a celebrity makeup artist like Mario . If Cardi B , millie bobby brown and a legend rejects you," someone wrote.
But people say they're sleeping better knowing that Brown wants nothing to do with the beauty YouTuber.
While it's completely possible that Brown and other celebrities may simply not have seen Charles' questions, it's also possible that they're trying to distance themselves.
