Mindy Kaling is a fashion icon. From her incredible red carpet looks to her always fierce street style, she's proof positive that style has no size.
And Mindy Lahiri, Kaling's character in "The Mindy Project," is just as iconic when it comes to fashion. Lahiri's self-confidence throughout the show was expressed perfectly through her wardrobe of bright colors, bold prints, and SO much sparkle. Because curvy girls don't have to blend into the background or hide — everyone deserves to be the center of attention, and wear exactly what they want.
As "The Mindy Project" starts its final season, let's take a loving look back at Mindy Lahiri's most incredible curvy fashion moments. It's been a wild, pattern-matching six years.
First of all, Mindy Lahiri's party dress game is STRONG.
This dress has everything: sequins, patterns, and a high hemline. Basically everything I love in a dress. Also, each dress carries a story. Remember when she crashed a wedding (for the second time) in this look? Good times.
When looking for a new bae at a party, Lahiri wore a fierce metallic houndstooth dress.
Costume designer Salvador Perez is the mastermind behind Lahiri's bold looks in the show. Perez has also done the costumes for "Pitch Perfect" and "The Bling Ring." Sadly for us, a lot of Lahiri's outfits are custom, so you won't be able to find all of her looks in stores.
She wore a snakeskin print when she was trying to woo Danny and shoo Cliff away.
Any holiday party meant that Lahiri's looks would be on point, too.
Although she learned that her boyfriend was cheating on her at her own holiday party, she looked really good the entire time.
Her red leather jacket and plaid dress for her date with Danny was utter perfection.
CAUSE PLAID = FALL.
Her office looks are INSPIRATIONAL. This floral cap-sleeved number!
She delivered office ~edginess~ when trying to hunt down her sex tape.
No matter the time of year, Lahiri always incorporated color.
Her colorful sweater and skirt combo game is 100.
Nothing wrong with showing a little leg, if you want to.
Bright looks like this definitely conveyed Lahiri's bubbly personality throughout the show.
Can we borrow this sweater dress, though?
Kaling's character is OBSESSED with shopping, so it would only make sense that she'd own an Hermès bag.
Yes, of course Lahiri would have a head-to-toe look in millennial pink.
Because if anyone asks, she's 29.
Though she seldom wore pants in "The Mindy project," when she did step out in trousers, it was AMAZING.
Gotta give the fans options.
She took head-to-toe matching VERY seriously.
Only a character as confident as Mindy could break the whole "don't match your purse to your outfit" rule.
No, seriously. She matched A LOT.
No print was too bold!
No dress and coat could go un-matched!
And since "The Mindy project" was set in New York City, she had a pretty stellar collection of coats.
They were LITERALLY in every color under the sun.
Even the LINING of her coats were co-ordinated.
Because when a date flops, a perfect burgundy princess hem coat is a good consolation.
Mindy paired this pink coat with a matching dress, bag, AND shoes.
No one can touch these matching abilities.
But she never wore pink the same way twice. Because ICON.
This one with purple tassels was my personal favorite.
Also, this red tweed number will forever be in my mind.
Sometimes she swapped her heels for boots, like these bright red ankle boots with a matching coat.
And maternity style? No challenge at all for Mindy Lahiri.
This bright blue coat gave me LIFE.
Mindy, we're going to miss your style — and also your hilarious dance moves.
Stop by The Paley Center by October 1 in Los Angeles to see a free exhibit of the costumes from the show — it's inspirational.

I'm not crying, you're crying!
