Best friends, often become like family. They get close to us and everyone else in our homes. Sometimes, they might even develop a romantic relationship with one of our loved ones. It may seem strange initially, but the thought of your best friend marrying your brother or sister and becoming a real family member sounds like heaven for some. But what if she ends up hooking up with your dad? That might be less fun.
That certainly was the case for Joni Wilcox, who posts on TikTok as @joniwilcox0. She and her dad, David Wilcox, were super close. She was also very close to her friend Gina, but didn’t realize that David and Gina were becoming close as well. So close, in fact, that David got Gina pregnant. It’s so messy that Joni went to Dr. Phil for help.

The angry friend went on a viral rant.
In a since-deleted rant that had more than 800,000 views, according to the New York Post, Joni raged.
“Me and this girl became friends. Next thing I know, her and my dad start f—ing behind my back,” she said.
And there is quite an age difference between the two. “She’s 22, he’s 55,” she explained. “Then the stupid b—- gets pregnant by my dad.”
Joni doesn’t think Gina is the right person for her dad.
Dr. Phil said David is 49, and his daughter called his new love interest lazy and money hungry, and said all she wants from her dad is a nice lifestyle. “She’s a gold digger,” the barista from Florida told Dr. Phil.
But Gina claims she is a licensed cosmetologist who makes her own money and loves David.
“His money is not why I want to be with him,” she told Dr. Phil. “Our relationship is healthy; it’s fun. I’m in the process of moving in with David. We have a child together, so it’s obviously something very serious.”
Gina and Joni allegedly got into a physical altercation.
Both women recalled a night to Dr. Phil when things blew up in front of David. Gina claimed her former friend punched her in the face, an accusation Joni ultimately denied. David reportedly broke the fight up, but decided not to throw his daughter out because he wanted to mend their once-strong relationship.
He agreed that he probably shouldn’t have dated his daughter’s friend.
David told Dr. Phil he can’t take it back, especially now that the pair have a child together. He wants to live a happy life with Gina.
“I agree that there should be a boundary there to not date her friends. But I also want to continue living my life romantically with someone that I’m with,” he said.

Joni appears to be moving forward.
She posted a sweet video with Gina and David’s young son on TikTok in December 2023, with text that reads, “Tell me you’re over it without telling me you’re over it” and the hashtags, #fyp and #babybrother.
Someone commented, “I love this for you even tho she still WRONG ASF but what’s done is done ig ❤️.”
