Nail polish is one of life's most simple pleasures. God knows why we spend hours on end coloring our fingernails to perfection, only to have it chip on us 24 hours later, but it's just pretty and fun, OK?
Removing nail polish, on the other hand, is a real pain in the butt. Thanks to acetone and other gnarly chemicals, it can become a smelly, messy, skin drying, and sometimes genuinely difficult task.
An indie brand created what is likely the world's strangest nail product to take all those worries away from us. And … it actually does what it's supposed to?
So there's this stuff called Nailfix & Chill.
Well, it was called Nailfix & Chill.
Now it's called Remove & Chill.
(I'm assuming due to legal action from Netflix.)
Anyway, the whole point of this stuff, created by indie brand The SIGN Tribe, is that it doesn't have acetone, doesn't stink up the room like regular nail polish remover, and makes removing nail polish a little more relaxing.
It claims to dissolve nail polish in just a few minutes after you glob a little bit onto each nail.
It seems too easy and maybe a little too good to be true, no? Like, this stuff can't actually work, can it?
That's where YouTuber and holographic ~kween~ SimplyNailogical comes in.
She tried the removing cream — using her boyfriend Ben as a lab rat, of course — to see where this product lies on the marketing bullshit scale.
And OMG, it actually worked as advertised?
That being said, it couldn't hold a candle to the removing prowess of good, old-fashioned acetone (used on the hand of the left side of the screen).
But still, not bad for a product that's entirely original. And allegedly doesn't smell like death.
If you want your own Remove & Chill cream, you'll have to wait until November 14 to order it — it's on backorder right now.
You'll have to pay for it in GBP, but it does ship internationally.
