We have reached the stage of this strange year where we all have a stack of masks as deep as our underwear drawer. If we walk into a shoe store, the sales clerk bonds by exclaiming, "Cute mask!" And we are — in all seriousness — trying to match masks to outfits on a daily basis. Things have gotten weird. There is no doubt. And although we are all hoping this is a temporary situation, no one is sure of that.
I buy at least one tree ornament every year. Sometimes just to add to my collection. Sometimes to remember an event. So I'm absolutely planning to hang a "Santa mask" ornament this year. What I don't know is this: Will I have to explain it for years to come? Or will it not seem odd in a few years?
I'm not sure if this is funny or if I want to cry, but both feelings are valid. I feel compelled to add one of these ornaments to my collection.
This clay Santa has a custom DIY beard and a mask
This handmade (no molds) ornament is just about right. Santa is wearing a mask, hoping to stay well as he delivers presents. He looks worried. And his beard is a bit DIY (especially in the "messy" version) this year, but he's completely rocking the entire look. Because: Santa!
You can choose the look of Santa's beard on this one: ringlets, twisted, loops, or messy.
He is wearing a hat ornament that says the year, as if anyone is likely to forget that.
A classic, hand-painted ornament collection — with masks
These are classic round ornaments with a hand-painted character on them. You can choose Santa, of course, but there are several options: elf, snowman, reindeer, and gingerbread man among them.
All of them are cute, funny, and rendered in soft, watery colors. The entire collection might be appropriate, honestly, given what's happening.
This face mask is the ornament
This is a cute idea. Just hang this tiny, ornament-sized mask as the ornament. It has the year right on it so people will get your point. It even has ear loops.
All your best GFs in holiday dresses and masks
This ball ornament is painted with an image of four female friends wearing holiday dresses, coordinating masks, and Santa hats. I'm pretty sure this is an accurate reflection of what's coming this holiday season.
Maybe give this — with a bottle of wine — to all your friends?
This personalized Santa is sugary and glittery and wearing a mask
This handmade polymer clay Santa is good to go. He has glitter on his hat and sugar sprinkles in his noodle beard, and he's wearing a blue mask. You can have a name — or whatever you want — personalized onto his hat.
