Taco lovers, the day has come! The beauty industry has filled up our makeup bags with so many food-inspired products, and finally an eye shadow palette is coming just for people who adore a good Taco Tuesday deal — and yes, dish out the extra coins for guac every single time!
Glamlite Cosmetics — the brand largely responsible for the other food-themed beauty crazes we've seen — is back again to serve up the very first taco palette ever. But that's not all! There is one more huge yet scrumptious surprise awaiting us!
Glamlite Cosmetics first teased its taco-themed makeup collection back in March.
"Due to popular demand, we just couldn't keep this a secret anymore! Taco x Glamlite is coming! The collection you've all been craving for," the brand wrote on Instagram. "As a Latina-owned brand, we are so excited to have created the world's first taco palette along with an entire collection named 'Viva Mexico!' inspired by the most amazing and authentic Mexican food and drinks."
You read that right! The founder of Glamlite Cosmetics is a proud Latina!
Meet Gisselle Hernandez! She is a foodie who is very open about her own struggles with body image and overcoming negative critiques about her body. Hernandez created Glamlite Cosmetics and the overall food-themed makeup as her clapback against the fat-shaming she endured. She's also a self-described foodie who just really loves pizza, burgers, and tacos. Samesies!
It's super dope to watch her celebrate her heritage with makeup.
Now behold! Feast your eyes upon this stunning Viva Taco Eye Shadow Palette.
"ARE YOU READY FOR THE WORLD’S FIRST TACO PALETTE?" the brand asked on Instagram.
"Inspired by one of the most iconic and authentic Mexican dishes, we bring you the Taco Palette! This palette contains 15 ultra vibrant and highly pigmented shades named after all your favorite taco ingredients! Buen Provecho! The Taco Palette and Viva Mexico Collection will be available on an exclusive pre-order starting May 5th at 8 AM PST with shipping starting May 15th in the order pre-orders were placed! (Taco Palette will retail for $38 only on Glamlite.com) What’s your favorite topping?"
Check out how gorgeous these eye shadow swatches look!
The Viva Taco Eye Shadow Palette includes taco-themed shades like Carne Asada, Al Pastor, Pico De Gallo, Guacamole, Cilantro, Radishes, and Salsa Roja. These shadows look very pigmented and come in a mix of shimmers and mattes. The color rollout looks like it will include multiple reds and greens but there are also nice jewel tones and gorgeous metallics. Clearly, Glamlite Cosmetics focused on creating a themed palette that's actually wearable.
And that's not all! Glamlite Cosmetics will roll out an entire Viva Mexico Collection!
"For this collection, we really wanted to design products that highlight the most popular delicious dishes, drinks, and treats in authentic Mexican cuisine," Glamlite Cosmetics shared on Instagram. "We'll be serving you products inspired by homemade tacos, churros, micheladas, margaritas, and even yummy horchata! This will be by far our BIGGEST collection to date! What's your favorite Mexican food and drink???"
How cute!
Fans cannot wait to drop the coins to get the latest Taco Palette, especially after the first two were smash hits.
"I am SO ready! I'm super impressed with the other two. This one starts the pre-order while I'm at work. I'm going to try and sneak off to order though," one fan wrote.
They can't wait to grow their collection of food shadows.
"OMG! I already have the pizza [and] the burger. Now I go for the taco. My makeup room smells like fast food. Now I want a dessert," one fan shared.
The Viva Mexico Collection will join Glamlite's existing menu of food eye shadow palettes.
Glamlite Cosmetics sent the world into a frenzy with its Pizza Palette (Glamlite Cosmetics, $40) and Pizza Lashes ($12, Glamlite Cosmetics). Then the brand dropped a Burger Palette ($40, Glamlite Cosmetics) and Fry Lashes ($12, Glamlite Cosmetics) on our plates. Foodies and beauty lovers alike went totally nuts trying to snag these products. It looks like the brand has no plans on slowing down anytime soon.
Cardi B was even spotted sporting shadows from the Pizza Palette during a performance.
Cardi B's makeup artist, Erika La Pearl, is known to use eye shadow palettes from high-end drugstore and indie beauty brands on the rapper's face. It's no surprise that she had to get a taste of the Pizza Palette for one of Cardi B's performances.
"@Erika_lapearl_mua showed us how to create the perfect sultry look on @iamcardib using these 4 toppings from the Pizza Palette!" The shades La Pearl used are Kalamata Olive, Ham, Marinara, and Prosciutto for a sultry red look to match Cardi's fringe unitard.
And in case you're wondering how shadows from Glamlite Cosmetics perform...
