Labor Day is right around the corner and in addtion to marking the unofficial end of summer, it's also a chance to score major deals. Many retailers are offering epic markdowns and shoppers can score deals on things like mattresses, furniture, school supplies, and more.
We talked to, Bethany Hollars Money Saving Expert at BrickSeek.com who offered a lot of insight into what deals we should be searching for this Labor Day. Be sure to check them out and get ready to shop as we say "goodbye" to summer and "hello" to fall!
Labor Day Mattress Deals
"Labor Day is in the top two best times of year to buy a mattress," says Hollars. "Shop direct at brands like Serta, Tempur-Pedic, and Tuft & Needle for significant savings on a new bed. Or, check out your local mattress discount store or online retailers like Overstock.com for hundreds of dollars off the price of mattresses and box springs, as well as special offers like 'Free bedframe with the purchase of any mattress.'"
- Tuft & Needle: Save up to 20% on mattresses and up to 15% on bedding.
- Purple: Take advantage of Purple’s Labor Day sale and get up to $300 off mattresses now through September 14.
- Cozy Earth: Get luxe bedding, loungewear, and linens 30% off during this Labor Day sale.
- Serta: Save up to $1,400 on mattresses and adjustable base sets before September 12.
Labor Day School Supplies Deals
"Now that school is back in session, expect to see steep discounts during the Labor Day weekend on all school supplies," says Hollars. "From paper and pencils to backpacks and calculators. Stock up on these essentials now and store them away for later in the year or next school season."
- Lenovo: Save up to 60% off PCs and laptops from just $300.
- Target: The major retailer has loads of back-to-school items on sale for Labor Day.
- Rocketbook: Shop reusable notebooks for up to 25% off before September 1.
- Adidas: Save up to 30% on thousands of styles including shoes and clothes for kids, as well as backpacks and lunchboxes.
Labor Day Gardening Deals
"Gardening staples like mulch, plants and flowers, seeds, hoses, flower pots, and gardening tools will be discounted 75-90% off during Labor Day sales events as retailers try to clear their shelves to make room for fall inventory," says Hollars. "Buy now and store these summer staples away for next season."
- AeroGarden: Take 30% off indoor growing kits and more sitewide through September 6.
- The Home Depot: Save big on outdoor furniture and gardening supplies through September 7.
- Wayfair: The furniture and decor retailer has tons of discounts on outdoor supplies.
Labor Day Beauty Deals
Labor Day is also an excellent time to shop for makeup and beauty supplies. Many of our favorite retailers or having major sales.
- Bliss: During the Friends & Family sale save up to 30% off sitewide August 31 through September 6.
- It Cosmetics: Get up to 25% off, plus get a free gift with purchase on orders over $75.
- Mario Badescu: Get 25% off sitewide from August 31 to September 6.
