Snacks are most commonly associated with school-age children. Many need one in the middle of the day to break up the monotony of learning. They require another snack once they get home from school to take the edge off and to give their blood sugar levels a boost. Parents of young children know to be prepared because a good snack can go a long way in keeping the peace.
But as author and illustrator Maira Kalman shared, “Everyone I know is looking for solace, hope and a tasty snack.” She’s right. Snacks aren’t just for the little ones. They still get the job done for grown-ups too. As an ode to snacks, one TikTok mom shared some of her favorites, calling the list of top contenders “Snacks That Will Ruin Yo Life.”
Jazmyn talks about a variety of topics in a unique and interesting way.
Jazmyn W., who goes by @jazmyjw on TikTok, is a stand-up comic and creative who talks about a little bit of everything on her page. One minute she’s sharing dating horror stories, and the next she’s addressing the intersections of race and pop culture. She does it all with a passion and flair that has garnered her nearly 2 million followers on the platform.
'If you don't want your life ruined, keep scrolling,' Jazmyn warned.
So when she spoke about her favorite snacks, people tuned all the way in. But before she shared, Jazmyn warned her followers that “if you don’t want your life ruined, keep scrolling,” before sharing her list of most addictive snacks.
Coming in at No. 4 was the ciabatta rolls from Trader Joe's. “You put these bad boys in the air fryer for six minutes. Take them out, cut them in half. Put as much butter as your heart desires. Life ruined," she says in the video.
Chessman butter cookies claimed the third spot.
For No. 3, she recommends Pepperidge Farms Chessman butter cookies. Jazmyn takes a bite out of one of these cookies as she declares that they will also ruin your life.
As a person who also loves a simple and sweet cookie — something like the Girl Scout Trefoils — I’ll definitely be adding this one to my list. I’ve never heard anyone talk about these before.
She also recommends Insomnia Cookies.
In the second spot, she highlighted the cookie bakery chain Insomnia. Jazmyn said even though quite a few people are raving about Crumbl Cookies, Insomnia is superior. The grab for Insomnia is that the company delivers.
She issued a special warning about these: “If you have an Insomnia Cookies in your city, stay away from them!”
As someone who was introduced to the magic of Insomnia as a college student, I can confirm these cookies are superior.
A Dreyer's ice cream flavor claimed the top spot.
In the top spot, the “baddest b—- on the block,” is Dreyer’s Double Fudge Brownie flavor of ice cream. Jazmyn swears by this one because even though she typically doesn’t like chocolate ice cream, she ate two gallons of the flavor in one month.
She ends the video in distress, “When I tell you that this will take over your life …. cuz I’m a victim in this.”
Her followers suggested ways to elevate the snacks she already enjoys.
Her comments were filled with mostly co-signs. There were a lot of Insomnia Cookie fans. There were folks who had never tried any of these snacks and said they were now on a mission, and there were a few people who shared ways Jazmyn could elevate the snacks she already loves even more.
“Those chessmen are the only one i use for banana pudding,” one user wrote.
“Girl use those chessmen to make a cheesecake crust and thank me later,” another person wrote.
“Ooohhh hold up,” Jazmyn responded.
With the additional suggestions, it seems that her life may remain in shambles.
Another warning: If you decide to try any of these dangerous snacks and end up loving them, make sure you keep them well-hidden from the kiddos so they don't end up demolishing your stash. Moms need special treats too!
