“It was the night before Christmas and all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.” That’s how the story goes. But for one woman on TikTok, that didn't end up being true at all. Her holiday spirit turned a bit scary as she made a shocking discovery inside her Christmas tree.
Gina, who goes by the name @gina_premmama on TikTok, thought she was seeing things. But as it turns out, some investigation confirmed her fears.
Two small eyes were staring back at her from her Christmas tree.
Gina used a broomstick to shift the branches of her Christmas tree. Eventually, two small beady eyes could be seen staring back at her and into the camera she used to document the moment.
The mouse — obviously frightened — tried to avoid eye contact. And although this is the season of good tidings, it simply couldn’t continue living in the tree.
Thankfully, Gina had exterminators in the house.
Gina captioned the video simply, “Help!!!!” Thankfully, she didn’t have to outsource as she was able to find her own solution to the problem. In the next video on her page, Gina shows her two cats going after the little intruder.
Even though they were definitely in hot pursuit, if they were able to catch it, they didn’t hurt it — at least physically. We're pretty sure, however, that it was terrified.
Gina said the tree had been stored in the shed.
Gina captioned the video saying that the mouse was not harmed and had been moved safely outside … along with her Christmas tree. People had a few questions about how the mouse got in the house in the first place, considering Gina’s tree was an artificial one.
When one user asked, Gina explained that the tree was stored in the shed, which might have explained how the mouse made it inside.
It was a happy ending for all.
Surviving two cats and a terrified homeowner, this mouse lived a real Christmas miracle story. Gina was kind enough to send this little one off with a gift. She told one of her followers that she released the mouse outside "with a piece of cheese.”
