At the 74th Annual Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, Tracee Ellis Ross was a winner on and off the red carpet.
She won "Best Actress in a TV Comedy," marking the first time that a Black woman picked up the award since Debbie Allen won the honor in 1983.
The competition was stiff (the "Black-ish" star was up against actresses Rachel Bloom*,* Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Sarah Jessica Parker, Issa Rae, and Gina Rodriguez for the award), but Ross deservingly took home the honor. All eyes were on Ross as she commemorated the historic win with a heartfelt speech.
And she gave her address while wearing a stunning naked dress.
Ross slayed the Golden Globes red carpet in a shiny, jaw-dropping naked dress.
She paired the dazzling Zuhair Murad couture gown with Christian Louboutin pumps.
As the first Black woman to win best actress in a TV series, comedy or musical in 34 years, Ross deserved to dazzle.
"It is an honor to be on this show, 'Black-ish,' to continue expanding the way we are seen and known, and to show the magic and the beauty and the sameness of a story and stories that are outside of where the industry usually looks," she said in her speech.
Not only did she break barriers on-screen, the 44-year-old actress proved women of all ages, shapes, and sizes can (and definitely should) fearlessly rock a naked dress.
“It’s nice at 44. I like it here," she stated.
She also proved Golden Globe winners aren't immune to #StraplessDressProbz.
Ah, classic slippage.
To complement her sparkling gown, Ross added two fists full of bling.
And she added focus with a KILLER red lip.
Her makeup artist, Jamie Greenberg for Kiehl's and L'Oreal, custom-mixed the stunning warm red by mixing L'Oreal Infallible Lip Paints ($10, Ulta) in #322 and #324.
The only thing that outshined Ross' naked dress? Her acceptance speech.
Ross, whose mother is the iconic Diana Ross, dedicated her historic award to “all of the women, women of color — colorful people." She added, “I see you, we see you."
