Hi, I'm obsessed with coveralls, and I think you should be too. You might only associate them with your handy dad or your local electrician, but they're actually becoming extremely trendy in the fashion world right now. And there are plenty of reasons for that.
Not only are coveralls the gender-ambiguous style trend our extremely gendered (ahem, sexist) nation absolutely needs right now, they're also hella comfortable and multifunctional in a way I didn't think was necessary but totally understand now.
Where is this sudden adoration with coveralls coming from? It's all thanks to one of my favorite indie fashion brands, one you should absolutely know by now.
These are the Workwear Coveralls by Wildfang.

FYI, Wildfang is a feminist-as-hell fashion brand that specializes in unisex and gender-non-specific clothing. You might recognize it as the brand that made an entire line devoted to voting earlier this season.
The ones I'm wearing here are the bright red iteration, but they also come in black, olive green, navy blue, and a deeper shade of red.

I'm 5'11" and a size 14, by the way. That makes me an XL in Wildfang terms. The only fault I find they have is that they only come up to a size 2X — still, that's a lot more effort to cater to plus sizes than most brands make.
For that price, you get one of the most practical, high-quality, and shockingly versatile pieces you'll ever own.

For starters, the mostly cotton fabric this guy's made from is thick yet comfortable and completely indestructible.

Though these coveralls were created with fashion more in mind than your run-of-the-mill industrial pair, they serve mostly the same functional purposes that'll help you way more in your daily life than you'd think.
Secondly, THE POCKETS.

SO.

MANY.

GOD.

DAMN.

POCKETS.

Precisely, these coveralls have 10 pockets. Oh, and a utility loop.
Seriously, what do you need to store? Your phone? Your travel fragrance? Your lipstick? Your headphones? Your keys? Your wallet? A pen? You've got spaces for them all plus so many other things you might need at any given moment.
The entire thing is held together by one zipper that runs from the lower groin all the way up to the clavicle, so it doesn't require any dreaded button fuss.

The thick fabric and long, button-up sleeves make them warm and practically wind-resistant, which is a necessity for a city dweller in winter.

But that zipper makes it super easy to shed the upper half if you end up getting warm once you're indoors where it's heated.

If, like me, you're a girl who likes to wear stuff that's a little less feminine and a little more rough around the edges, you'll feel right at home in the coveralls' straight legs and slightly loose fit.

You'll also be extremely thankful if you're tall — even at my height, the pants fall all the way down to my lower ankles. I only rolled them up here to make sure my Docs were visible.

Most important? They're just really dang comfortable.

And sometimes, comfort and fashion do go hand in hand.
I'm not saying you 100% need these in your life. But you 100% need these in your life.
