We always talk about what a man looks like when he experiences an orgasm. Movies and TV shows constantly show a man's "O" face, but when the focus shifts on the woman, it's on her body, not her face.
One photo series is doing its part to destigmatize female sexuality.
Brazilian photographer Marcos Alberti is photographing women before, during, and after reaching orgasm.
After partnering with sexual well-being brand Smile Makers, Alberti photographed over 20 women reaching orgasm.
It was important to capture models from all over the world.
Some of the models came from more sexually-liberated countries, like France and the US, while some were from more conservative countries, like Singapore and China.
The photos were done tastefully.
Everything from the torso down was kept out of view from both the viewer and even the photographer.
“I love that we were able to speak so frankly with these women about sex and pleasure," Alberti said in a press release. "When you approach the taboo topic of sex through the lens of humor, people start to open up and share opinions more freely, which can lead to a monumental change in people’s mentality.”
The photos were meant to spark a discussion about female sexuality and body positivity.
"All the women who modeled were in awe of their photos, especially the final shot where they were glowing and radiant,” Fan Yang, Global Brand Manager of Smile Makers, revealed. “That final shot, of a strong female grinning into the camera, is exactly what we want people to see. We hope that everyone viewing this project will feel more confident about their bodies and sexuality. All it takes is one smile at a time.”
Each woman looks stunning.
They also featured a variety of body types and ages, which we love.
But most importantly, we love each woman's smile in the final photo of the shoot.
Those smiles are giving us so much life.
