School is supposed to be a sacred place of learning, healthy socialization, and higher education. Yet, unfortunately, we don’t live in an idealistic world where this is the case.
Tragically, it’s all too often that we hear stories of bullying gone wrong inside these sacred halls, which lead to horrific consequences. Sometimes, these scars from way back in our schooling days last well into our adulthood, making us realize how much action needs to be taken by the schooling systems in order to ensure incidents like this never happen again.
In a Reddit post later deleted by the user, someone asked, “What was the worst thing a kid ever did at your school?” People openly shared the worst behaviors of their classmates from back when they were in school, and here are some of the incidents that have haunted them ever since, from straight-up chaotic to downright tragic.
The Coffee Poisoning Incident
“[A kid] poisoned our science teacher’s coffee when she left the room. She spent a few weeks in the hospital, and he was expelled” -luna-ley
It’s for the best that this student never returns to school!
The Tragic Birthday Gift
“Year 5. The girl I had a crush on since year 3 brought a birthday card for me and had everyone in my class sign it. I was so excited because I was the unpopular kid in my class. When I opened it, the card said, Sign if you hate ‘my name’ and kids in every class in my grade had signed it. I just barely got outside of the school before I started crying, and I cried until I went to sleep that night.” -ghouldozer19
Rejection always hurts, but this is next-level cruelty.
Harry Potter and The Fired Teacher
“Ratted out a teacher for reading Harry Potter to us, and the bible nut PTA mom with the purse strings got her fired for it.” -Technicolor_Reindeer
I guess she should have stuck to the curriculum!
Fat Shamed by Crush
“During my 7th-grade year, I had a HUGE crush on this kid [who] had the same English class as me. Honestly, this is pretty much where my insecurities [about] my appearance started. Because I remember this exactly. He sat in front of me, and one day he turned around to face me and said straight to my face (and loud enough for EVERYONE to hear), ‘You have fat rolls.’ To say I was hurt is an understatement. I was utterly crushed and absolutely mortified. Mind you, I was extremely shy as a kid. And honestly, it hasn’t gotten much better as an adult. So this entire encounter was unprovoked.” -MamaFear95
I can see why that would stick with someone all these years later. We’ve got to put an end to making comments about other people’s weight.
The Pencil in the Eye
“In elementary school, a kid (they never found out who) threw a pencil on my bus that ended up hitting a girl in the eye. It was the outer side of her eye. She had to wear an eyepatch for the rest of the year, but, fortunately, [there was] no permanent damage.” –SurviveDaddy
This poor girl is so lucky she wasn’t stuck looking like a pirate for the rest of her life!
The Crying Teacher
“Had a girl in my 7th or 8th grade super Presbyterian private middle school class sass back to the teacher, ‘Maybe that’s why your son’s an alcoholic.’ The teacher absolutely broke…down while the rest of the class sat there in stunned silence.” -maximus_the_great
That’s a new level of disrespect, and that teacher deserves an apology!
Some kids at school are absolutely out of control. Sure, it could make for a hilarious story one day, but some actions might cause irreparable damage for years to come, so be careful what you say! If you’ve ever had a crazy experience with a student at school, leave a comment!
