In addition to its pearl-white sand and turquoise water, Kailua overlooks the stunning Kaneohe Bay and Mokula Islands, which can be accessed with kayaks and offers plenty of sea turtle sightings along the way.
Sand Beach, Maine
Located within Acadia National Park, Sand Beach might besmall in length but it's mighty in grandeur, tucked between mountains and rockyshorelines. While the water might be a bit chilly even in summer months, the soft sand and majestic views will be enough to win you over.

Alabama may not be the first state you think of in terms of beautiful beaches, but its 32 miles of white sand will pleasantly surprise you. Set along the aquamarine waters of the Gulf Coast, you can't go wrong with Gulf Shores or Orange Beach in particular, which offers plenty of relaxation, adventure or even a history lesson with nearby Fort Morgan—the guardian of Mobile Bay.
