Sassy Separates and Jeans
The last thing moms should have to fuss with is pairing the right tops with the right pants. But Burke not only makes fashionable separates appear attainable, she does so with style and sass. "She has exhibited tasteful choices without succumbing to the drabness that can often, understandably, emerge during this priority-shifting stage of life," says Zox, who earned his Product Design MBA at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. "Whether it's a sexy spin on the mom jean, or a modish maternity camisole, she always seems to mix motherhood and fashion successfully."
Glamorous Gowns
Burke has to wear a lot of formidable formal wear as a co-host on ABC's hit ballroom series "Dancing With the Stars" and on a number of red carpets. Astonishingly, she never comes across as uncomfortable because she selects gowns that compliment her body and tastes. "Brooke has the rare ability to synthesize maturity and motherhood into a classic-chic aesthetic, giving her timeless appeal," Zox says. "Ever beautiful, this sartorial adroitness keeps her hip to what's vogue, while remaining effervescently timeless."
The Rainbow Is the Limit
Brightly colored clothes can brighten your day and make you look younger and more vibrant. Just ask Burke, who has never met a shade of purple she didn't like. "Seemingly one of her most dashing color choices, it compliments her even, glowing complexion," says Zox. "She exudes fun and elegance."
Sweaters, Jackets and Accessories
Instead of hoodies, try breezy cardigans and cuffed jeans. That's what Burke tells Redbook she chooses in lieu of sweats when she goes shopping. "Brooke harnesses casual ensembles with ease," Zox says. Burke says she also has a predilection for sporty jackets and fun and flirty hats.
Trying on Trends
Burke isn't wildly trendy, but she's not afraid to incorporate trend-driven pieces if they coincide with her overall style sensibilities. For instance, she'll wear an animal-print dress or a snakeskin belt if and when they look good on her. "The key to her success," says Zox, "is Brooke's ability to stay true to herself."
Sexy Heels
Skechers has hired Burke as its spokesmodel in the past, and she looks great in sneakers. She's athletic and it shows. But there's no question that Burke loves to slide her size-8 feet into high heels. As a result, more often than not she is seen wearing her sexy, calf-flattering platforms, sandals and stilettos.
