An Alabama mother says her 3-year-old son escaped from day care and walked to Walmart alone, and apparently, no one noticed. Jasmine Najee’s son, Sir Paxton, was supposed to be at the Kiddie Care Learning Center in Dothan on September 17, but surveillance cameras reportedly show him leaving the facility alone about 4 p.m. Now, Najee wants to know how this could have happened.
Sir Paxton allegedly left the day care center and walked across the street to the Walmart Neighborhood Market, where he wandered around until an employee saw him, per WTVY. Police were reportedly notified that the boy was missing around 4:30, and Najee said no one told her until 5 p.m. She is thankful her son survived but wants the day care to make amends.

Sir Paxton allegedly left via an unlocked door.
Najee explained on Facebook that her son had gotten outside, climbed a fence, and then walked to Walmart.
“My 3 year old was sent to the bathroom by himself from another classroom, the back door was unlocked, crossed 3 lanes of traffic and was around strangers for almost an hour, he went in unnoticed for 20 minutes, no authorities were called from the establishment, I was notified 45 minutes after he went missing, another establishment called the police, the reason they thought he was hiding, and this is what you send out, your telling me if I would’ve asked him about his day this wouldn’t have happened,” she wrote.
A friend reportedly saw Sir Paxton alone at the store.
Najee told WTVY that a friend, identified on Facebook as Daisha, saw Sir Paxton walking alone with snacks and Hot Wheels toy cars and knew something was wrong.
“I still can’t wrap my brain around what could’ve happened, I’m just forever grateful that the call wasn’t worse. I appreciate everyone involved, Houston County DHR Thank you!” Najee wrote on Facebook. “Your case worker was very good with Paxton. I can’t thank you all enough. We are forever grateful.”
The day care center owner shared an apology with the news station.
Kiddie Care Learning Center owner Kishia Saffold told WTVY in a statement that she is sorry Sir Paxton left the facility alone, and she tried to reassure others their children were safe.
“I am deeply sorry, to the child in our care, the parents, and those affected by this situation,” the statement reads in part. “As the director and owner, I take full responsibility for our failure to ensure the safety of those in our care â a duty I’ve always held as my highest priority.”

Najee claims Saffold never reached out to her personally.
Najee shared screenshots of an email sent to parents about the incident involving her son but wrote no one has reached out to her. The mother is appalled.
“I received a bill for next week, not a text or call to check on us. They failed my son and I really need answers not reputation save.” she wrote. “My heart is broken! Thank you for your prayers!”
