10-Year-Old Dies After Weeks in Hospital Due to Alleged ‘Unspeakable’ Torture by Mom & Boyfriend

A 10-year-old Florida boy has died weeks after his mother reportedly brought him unresponsive to Advent Health Waterman in Tavares. When Kimberley Mills and her son, Xavier Williams, arrived, she performed CPR while waiting for help. Upon further examination, staff reportedly noticed Xavier had serious injuries consistent with child abuse.

According to the Tavares Police Department, when Mills and her boyfriend, Andre Walker, learned hospital staff had called the police, the pair allegedly left the hospital. Mills returned a short time later with another young boy, but Walker did not return. Per court documents obtained by WESH, police interviewed Mills’ other son who shared shocking details.

The boy alleged his mother and her boyfriend had abused him and Xavier on multiple occasions. The child claimed that before family took Xavier to the hospital on February 22, 2025, he had experienced a severe punishment. WESH reported that Xavier had burns and bruises on his body and was in cardiac arrest upon arrival.

“He stated that [his brother] was being punished in the living room, and then after that, he was taken into the garage by Andre, who he also said was mom’s boyfriend,” Detective Doug Roberts said. “He was taken into the garage and punished further by Andre in the garage.”

The brother reportedly told police that punishments included dropping weights on the boys and beating them with a copper wire.

Mills initially faced charges of two counts of aggravated child abuse and two counts of child neglect. She also faced a count of tampering with evidence and two counts of accessory to aggravated child abuse, according to a police release on Facebook. Walter faced charges of aggravated child abuse and two counts of accessory to aggravated child abuse, and one count of tampering with evidence.

“These charges mean that both Kimberley Mills and Andre Walker participated in torturing and abusing these two children. We are working closely with the State Attorney’s Office to ensure these two boys get the justice they deserve. We are hoping that the boy that is hospitalized pulls through, however, in the event he does not make it, we are prepared to add enhanced charges,” police noted in a Facebook release February 28.

Sadly, the Tavares Police Department announced Xavier’s death on March 22.

“This innocent child’s life was marked by unspeakable suffering, and his loss has deeply shaken our community and everyone involved in this case,” police shared. “Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences go out to all who mourn this irreplaceable loss.”

Xavier’s aunt, Cameil Williams, created a GoFundMe account for Xavier’s biological father to help with final expenses. The grieving aunt shared, “Our family greatly appreciates the support and prayers that everyone has been giving us at this time as we navigate this very challenging period.”

The fundraiser has brought in donations of more than $14,000 thus far.
