Dad Arrested & Banned From Disney for Life After Allegedly Assaulting Cast Member at Meet-and-Greet

If you’ve ever visited a Walt Disney resort or theme park, you know the magic is only part of the experience. The parks are often crowded, hot, and speckled with crabby people. At the end of the day, everyone inside is trying to provide the same memories for their families, and it’s important we all treat each other respectfully. That goes for how guests treat cast members, too. There’s not a person in the world who is paid enough to put up with angry tourists who let belligerence get the best of them.

If you can’t keep yourself under control, Disney staff will kick you out and might even ban you for the rest of your life. So it’s best to take a deep breath and calm down before it’s too late.

A meet-and-greet reportedly got out of control at EPCOT.

A man visiting EPCOT with a woman and a small child had a bit of a meltdown on April 21, 2026, WDW Active Crime reported. No, not the child; it was a full-grown adult. Diego Rodriguez, his child, and his child’s mother were waiting in line for a character encounter with Mirabel from Encanto. The couple’s young child reportedly tried to run up to the character multiple times when it wasn’t their turn. When a cast member told the family to be patient, things evidently went awry.

Rodriguez and his wife became combative.

Mirabel’s character assistant explained the rules to the family, and the unnamed mother reportedly got angry. She allegedly pushed an autograph book in front of the cast member’s face, wanting Mirabel to sign it, per WDW Active Crime. When the cast member explained that this meet-and-greet was for photos only, Rodriguez reportedly became enraged.

In a sworn statement, the victim claimed Rodriguez grabbed her right arm, shook her, and yelled at her. That was enough to involve police.

Deputies from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office arrived a short time later.

Disney security took the father to a holding area until deputies arrived. They walked in around 3:15 p.m. and spoke to several people about the incident. Many witnesses corroborated the cast member’s story, claiming Rodriguez was seen yelling, “Why everyone can take a picture but us?” Deputies arrested him, and he was charged with battery. But that’s not the biggest hurdle he faces.

Rodriguez may never set foot on Disney property again.

Walt Disney World takes trespassing and bans incredibly seriously. No matter what happens in the criminal case, Rodriguez will never be able to go back to another Walt Disney resort or theme park for the rest of his life.

To us, that’s the really sad part. Not only did this day apparently cause him to totally lose his cool in front of his family and other vacationers, but he also ruined any chance of making sweet memories for his child. And not just today but for the rest of his life. We sure hope it was worth it to look like a tough guy. Now, he just looks like a fool.
